Correction. He calls Lauren “neurotically wholesome.”
Rhiannon, the 70s anthem — hmmm. Not the worst song choice for her but it’s a fairly boring vocal with a great musical beat. It’s highly repetitious.
Listening to the Led Zeppelin song. She will be screaming. But this may be a test - she has to actually COME OUT of the scream and go back to her good voice. CAN SHE?? She never has before. It’s not a great song. “What Should Not Ever Be” is Haley Reinhart in the final.
No need to go to so much trouble. He just had unprotected sex with her during the daytime. She was not a live in. She just did the cleaning, some cooking, laundry, and other assorted duties...
I saw/heard Nicks briefly before I changed the channel. Maybe she sounded better later. I didn’t care for what I heard.
Another correction. The author is a SHE.

Obviously dislikes conservatives. Calls Lauren “neurotically wholesome” for not feeling comfortable with the label “evil.”
‘American Idol’: Nigel Lythgoe Slams ‘Morons’ Once Again
http://entertainment.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979339620
As this season of American Idol comes to a close, there is once again controversy. Fans were upset and called foul after the elimination of James Durbin last week, and now Nigel Lythgoe is once again slamming back against the rumors and speculation that the competition is manipulated.
According to MTV, Lythgoe said the following about the latest Idol controversy at a press conference for So You Think You Can Dance on Monday: “The ones that believe we manipulate everything, it drives me crazy sometimes. ‘How dare you let James go from “Idol”!’ ‘We know that you hate Haley!’ This is just crazy. I always end up having to go, ‘You morons out there ...’ or something like that, and realize that I’m arguing with 7 or 8-year-olds from Wisconsin. It’s annoying, because ‘Idol’ of all shows, really goes with what the public demands, whether we like it or not.”
Nigel Lythgoe has always been outspoken when it comes to American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. While his focus is now transferring to that latter series, he is still very much involved with Idol. With shocking eliminations a part of the series, fans will continue to be outraged in the future and blame the system used to select who goes on and who doesn’t. It is easy to blame technology.
Maybe the blame has to go to the lack of votes? There is no doubt James Durbin and Pia Toscano are talented, but neither had enough votes to make it forward. Their careers will continue on without Idol.
Her parents revealed the three songs their daughter will perform during a town meeting back home earlier this week.
What song did Haley Reinhart choose to perform? What Should Never Be by Led Zepplin is the song she chose to perform on Wednesday night. Word has it that Zep contacted Haley personally after she performed House of the Rising Sun, and they offered her a song from their catalog.
Haley singing What Is and What Should Never Be, with her old band.

OMGosh. She has not “grown” ONE BIT on Idol. How is she so clueless that she has not developed ANYTHING since back then??? Her smiles, her hand movements, her “I’m up here singing and looking great” attitude, she’s still exactly the SAME!!
I couldn’t get myself to watch the entire 9 minutes. You would have had to pay me.
It’s not that Haley doesn’t have talent. She does. But she does NOT showcase it. She is too “performy” and phony. If only she believed whatever she is singing. Even at a kid’s BD party she couldn’t get into her song?
I guess she is what she is. She’s pretty, her hair is cool, she has gorgeous long legs, and she has an original voice. She just performs for herself, like a pageant girl. And she thinks louder is better.
See, I can't believe this one. She didn't need to be offered it -- she has already sung it before with her band, as you show in your post with the YouTube link.
That’s been my complaint about her all along. Haley hasn’t grown. All the others have conquered their stage fright and begun learning to work the stage and use their back up singers more creatively.
Haley still just stands there and waves her arms every now and then. As I said last week, I’ve never gone into Wed. night saying, “Can’t wait to see what Haley does tonight!!!”.
I’ll miss James tonight. A lot.
I really like Scotty and admire his sharing his faith at his concert over the weekend and think I will be switching my votes to him.
Me too. I agree with you.
It's always nice to hear that a celeb is nice, because so many are um...not.
Did you hear when she almost ran over Diddy in the golf cart?
Chelsea: Now you almost ran over P-Diddy in a golf cart?
Adele: Yes! But I told that story I just got very excited I think it was like my first interview for a year and a half cause I had kind of been hiding away writing the new record so I was really like excited that someone was talking to me. Anyway, so I was telling the story, I saw him on the Sony lot, and someone gave me a golf buggy and I cant drive very well and I saw him and I was in full hair and makeup so I thought I would sort of like kind of like in a glamorous way go over and introduce myself and be like, hi. I got so excited, put my foot down, and was like, P-DIDDY!!! But he kind of had to jump out of the way a little bit because I sort of took my hands of the steering wheel cause I was so excited.
I think was the only girl not into Alanis Morissette at the height of her popularity.
Like others have said, it’s a really angry song and I can’t imagine it will do her any favors.
Plus, it makes me think of that show Full House and I hate that show with a passion.
There is so much that is disturbing about your post, not the least of which is the fact that there is a website called, “Full House Forever.”
” She ought to pick a JLo song and start out by saying, look ma, no autotuner!”
No autotuner or shake a shake to distract from the lack of vocals..........
” What Should Never Be by Led Zepplin for herself.
Interesting... it is “What Is and What Should Never Be” but... not sure how that song is going to translate onto the Idol stage. “
Agree. Will date myself with this comment.
This is one of the first songs where the shift of sound between speakers (2 channel stereo at that time )was very prevelant. The switching guitar riffs are a major part of its attraction. At least they were to me.
Remember hearing it clearly while in my Army barracks room counting down the days until life began again...
In any case Plant can bring it. Will really watch this to see how Haley attempts her “Robert light” version, as not many can get up there with him on vocals.
