Have not voted at all this season but I have been watching since the top 11 were chosen. After seeng Scotty sing Where Were You, I think he will win it all, I got the same feeling after watching Carrie Underwood and what Simon said - she will go on to be the biggest success Idol has ever had. I feel the same way now about Scotty after this week. He will be a huge star and probably soon inducted in the Country Music Hall of fame. What a gift of a voice he has. When he gets a little older and sings more love songs he will have them really fainting. This is from a 59 year old!

As one of the women on this thread, Pia was my favorite and I was disappointed and shocked when she was voted off. I had her pegged for the final with Scotty and felt she had a good shot at winning.
I know the women on this thread and it has nothing to do with jealousy. We call em like we see em. Haley is petulant. That was not a quality that Pia exhibited. She was extremely talented and beautiful. How bout that?! Sound like jealousy to you?
The Italian girl going home weeks ago so soon was out of nowhere. Now Durban (who is better than the other three combined IMO) is voted off.
My wife and I were upset by that. No way!
Durban has rare talent, can deliver on stage and we would watch him in concert anytime.
Anyway, when Durban was kicked off that ended our season of Idol this year for us.
I don’t really care about the others.
Scotty is talented, but we don’t want to see him give more blow jobs to his microphones.
Lauren’s mother may have met a brother to give her the booty, but she just IMO isn’t that talented.
Haley with enough paint can dress up for any street corner or Indian casino, but not for us.

I have a theory on Haley and the question of who votes for her. I agree with your assessment that the judges being so hard on her probably worked in her favor. Why? Because from what I know of that age group (I work with a lot of them), her behavior is typical. The age of viewers who are probably voting for her have the same entitled brat attitudes she does. The judges picked on her and not only made Haley mad but her voters too.

AMEN! Scotty couldn’t sing a song other than country. Not ONCE. And he NEVER got ANY criticism of that fact unlike every single other person!
No doubt he’s a nice kid...and will be a great country singer. But he is not in any way the best singer this year. Not by a long shot.
There is something very very wrong about what went on last night. The change up of the phone numbers, people getting confirmations of votes for Haley when they had voted for James (on redial). I truly have come to the conclusion that the entire voting process is rigged and I don’t even wear a tin foil hat when I say that. It’s pretty clear to me.
FYI..Lady Gaga was born and raised in YONKERS..that pretty much explains it all
Did you notice at the beginning of the show how out of it Haley was? She missed her mark at the start, when Ryan was introducing the four of them, and forgot to walk towards him. And at the start of her duet with Lauren, she looked really unhappy..probably figured she was gone..
Once Lauren was announced as safe first, then it was obvious that a stunner was coming up..that one of the guys was going home. Consider..if it was one of the girls leaving, then the two guys would have been put through first, and the two girls would have been up there last, side by side, hugging each other and crying. Made for drama.
I've written that I obviously don't get James..his music, but he has stage presence. Probably better for him that he didn't win..metal is sorta counter-culture, and AI is about as pablum as you can get. But he was obviously stunned at the news..and gotta like him for his honest emotion...fighting back the tears. Good for him. He really believed he was going to make the final show..last two standing..
This totally changes the dynamic...right now I think that any of the three could win. I have NO idea who. Remember, they didn't tell us who got the most votes, in order. One thought...if one of the girls goes home next week..then I think Scotty wins, and easily. If by chance, Scotty goes next week,, then I haven't a clue.
Scotty is gonna have a BALL when he goes back home...
Personal note: FYI..I have a triathlon next Saturday.. my second..training's going well. Tomorrow morning we're doing a 500 meter swim, 20k bike ride, and 5k run...last beig traing session pre-race..

This season is different than previous seasons.

"They are now going to stay with what they believe and what Jimmy believes is their genre that they need to work in."
Some people were criticized for not knowing who they were as artists. Scotty knows who he is as an artist and so did the judges. That's why they never told him to sing gospel, rap or jazz. sheesh
Good luck to you. AI usually does “the bottom two” first. This time they had golden stools and were just doing the “safe” first. They switched that straight up. I can’t believe Haley stayed and James is history but James was getting a little careless imo and I always voted for him but they should STAND STILL more instead of prancing around. It ain’t dancing with the stars!

This is the first I have seen of this complaint and I have read lots of articles about his departure from AI. Do you have a source for making such a statement?
Sheesh. Them maybe you could explain why others were repeatedly criticized for not coming out of their comfort zone and singing something “different”? I admittedly can’t stand country twang, but I can appreciate that he will be a good country singer. But to praise that second song the other night? Please. All I ask is that they are all judged with the same criteria. And they weren’t. Not even close.
I read about 25 pages on American Idol forums. It was repeated often by many.
Haley is a jazz singer. I don't like jazz per se, but there is an area that encompasses blues that I like. The problem with jazz is that a lot of people do not like it and so song selection is very important. Casey found out the hard way.
The judges repeatedly said that some were not sure of who they were as artists. They said this to Jacob, Lauren, Haley. Jacob was all over the place, but the JLo kept pushing to be like Vandross, Randy too, to a certain extent, but he also mentioned Jacob’s gospel nature. Jacob listened to Iovone, too much and it hurt him.
Lauren was changing genres a lot early on, and the judges questioned if she knew who she was and what type of album she would do. Over time she is doing more country, country/pop. The judges have commented on how this suits her.
Randy has commented on Haley doing well with jazz. Were the judges more cruel to her, yep, I think so. That’s why I think she is still there.
The judges pretty much let James do his own thing, because James knew he was as an artist.
Comfort zone means more than the genre they sing. Quite often when the judges say that, they are talking about the performer not moving around the stage enough, like Pia. Early on some of the others just stood there, too.
