I just realized I forgot to review Casey. I thought he was very fun and natural up there, doing his thing. Since he was fun up there (even though he talk growled through it all), I said as he finished, “well, jacob’s going home!”. I thought Casey was more entertaining than boring belter Haley. Though Haley was better in their duet.
Will they do bottom 3 or 2? Bottom 3 is half the players. I agree that Jacob should go home - because he is too hard to watch. His voice is Better than Casey’s but Casey is fun to watch. The rest of the bottom 3 are the love bugs Haley and Casey.
What? Lauren in the bottom 3 and Jacob not? Dial idol has to be wrong.
Was Pia worth watching on DWTS? I DVR the show but I never watch it. It’s very boring and formulaic compared to SYTYCD, which starts in a couple weeks and I can’t wait. It’s my fave reality show of all. So if Pia is interesting I can watch it.
I do not think Scotty needs to cross over, but I feel like he did last night. Wow, I thought his arrangement and delivery were genius. I loved him last night. He has a great career ahead of him.
Scotty's not ready yet but he's got talent. He's a little too scoopy for me - too much sliding around - he can work on that cuz everything else is perfect.
I recall two for sure, is Frenchie Davis a lesbian, too? That would make three.
” James - another standing o! Absolutely flawless and I believe he did a lot of the melody changes and arrangement himself. He is an artist and deserves to win this show. Though possibly scotty might win if he has more fans. He is entertaining and he connects with his songs like no one else.”
You and I are on the same page.
” the other surprise tonite is that it’s Lauren, and not Haley.”
That would be a travesty.
Dial Idol has been wrong a lot this year.
” The blonde sax players from my hometown. Mindi Abair”
Any idea of who the 2 blonde backups are. They sound very good, and in some cases , better than the contestant.
Too many backup singers this year. You can’t hear the contestant. Too many musicians on stage, too.
Thanks for the ping, jonny.
The contest is over, has been over for several weeks: it’s all about JAMES!!!
Wow. Magnificent. Words fail me.
You are such mean people. Why can't Jacob wear what he likes. Isn't this a free country? And as for moving around, that's what they are encouraged to do. He was getting his FUNK on and doing great, imo.
It just seemed to me like the song, a good choice, was cut short. James was movin' and groovin' old-school R'n'B party-down!!
I hope America doesn't satisfy the judges by voting him out tonight. I think Casey should go. So. There.
That was especially true for Lauren. It was a poor song choice for her and she had no feel for it whatsoever. That's two weeks in a row Lauren seems lackluster to me.
The duets were so-so also.
Yay, Haley. Perfect song choice and rockin’ performance. She is growing every week. (Yes, I said “growing” not “growling,” hehe.) Well done.
No, no, I am a Jacob fan, I didn’t knock his style of dress. You get me wrong. I believe he is a good person but cannot help his femininity. I love his voice. But when he moves, he is especially hard to watch. He sways like a girl, and I know that he can’t help it, but it’s harder to watch.
I voted for him last night (not as many votes as I gave James or Scotty or Lauren) but I will remain a fan. He is a homeboy to me, a stone’s throw from Compton as we speak.
More often than not, your take and mine agree!!
Haley is exceeding herself every week.
Casey sings with an angry face which gets quickly tiresome; his voice simply is not that great.
Haley’s voice is beautiful and varied.
Rofl!
This should stand out as an important lesson to all singers. The only one who should stand and sing with no emotion or deep meaning is Jackie Evancho because as yet, she is only 11 and too young, yet born with a perfect classical voice.
Anyone older should be following Frank Sinatra. Don’t sing a song you don’t believe. Just a great voice, with nothing behind it, is boring and a one trick pony. Pour out your soul in the song; display the appropriate emotion for the lyrics. Be angry, be sad, be ecstatic, be passionate. And do not just rise in intensity early on and stay at your top intensity. Bo-ring! Give us your full vocal and emotional range throughout. Save your deepest connection to your audience for the end.
A singer who has real passion will be more popular and sell more than a better singer who doesn’t. Deal with it, Pia, Thia, etc.
