Paso Robles, CA -- Their political party lines maybe different but one thing United States presidents could share is their family line.
A young girl in California has put together a Presidential Family Tree. Twelve-year-old BridgeAnne d'Avignon found that all the presidents but one are related to King John of England through a common ancestor.
"They are all cousins and all grandsons of John Lackland," BridgeAnne told KCOY News. The girl searched more than a half million names for months. She started with George Washington, then traced both the male and female family lines to make the connection.
KCOY reports that before this, historians were only able to link 22 presidential family trees.
The teen also found out that she is the 18th cousin of President Barack Obama. She even wrote him a letter to let him know.
The only president not linked to King John: the eight president, Martin Van Buren.
“The teen also found out that she is the 18th cousin of President Barack Obama.”

Given B. Hussein Obama’s shady past, wouldn’t bet the farm she’s related to him.
I am sure over half of white Americans are related to King John.
Rich men tend to have lots of children.
The farther back you go everybody is an 8th cousin or whatever.
A sad commentary.
I read once that everyone on earth is at least 50th cousinto everyone else
So what, I am descended from John Lackland as well. So is just about everyone else in this country whose ancestors come from Albion. The only trick is finding the paper trail that gets your family tree back to the old country. I’ll bet that they are all related to Charlemagne too, even Martin Van Buren would probably make that cut.
Not a single lobsterback redcoat cell in his bloodstream, that’s why Old Kinderhook is O.K.
Martin Van Buren had some serious commie connects, IIRC.
Is Lackland AFB related to John?
The Free Soil Party?
I'm calling fraud on her claim of 500,00 names over 'months.' Even if done over a year, that's more than a thousand names a day. Before 1860 or 1850, the US Census records only list the name of the head of household, and the number of persons by sex by decade of age in the household. If you want their names, then you need to find wills and deeds or family bibles - primary records, many of which are in private hands or in courthouses and are not accessible online.
Published family histories by the DAR or others are not accurate (I have one documented Revolutionary War ancestor who is claimed on over thirty different accepted DAR genealogical records).
Please 'splain how she had time to go through primary family records for over a thousand people a day for months on end.
I've easily spend weeks working on a single name when looking at the pre-1850 period. I realize these were prominent families - but she still looked at over 500,000 names. At a thousand a day, and five minutes each (riiiiiiiiiiight), that's 83 hours per day.
The best known group are the descendants of Henry Capet ~ there may well be batardes there but they were relatives anyway so who cared!
People like George Soros contribute at the sperm bank so we don't really know about them.
Amazing that she can be a relative of a “black “ man like BO. perhaps he is not a real black?
Are you logged on?
We all have traces of “black” heritage, hecht.
I’ve been tracing my tree for years. Once you get a royal connection, you are in luck, because the royals document legitimate births forever. You can get all the way back to BC times once you get a good one.
And in some way, everyone IS related to everyone else.
For that reason, I only bother tracing direct ancestors. It’s more interesting (to wonder what you might inherit), and I’ve found some great stuff. And learned a lot too. My favorite find is Eliot Winship and Edward Craft, who ran guns and ammo for the revolution with the Adams. And whose brother, Thomas, was in the Boston Tea Party.
Twelve is teen?
Good old Van Buren, our first president who grew up speaking a foreign language: Dutch.
