Happy Warm and Fuzzy Wednesday!
Hi everybody! I managed to sell Mike's car and motorcycle, and had to turn in the tags to stop the registration and insurance. So I called the number listed for the DMV and got a recording. So I went to the address indicated in the recording , took a number, and waited in line. When I got to the window, the clerk told me to go to the "office' at the corner of Atlantic and University. So I drove there, and there was a little city hall. I took a number, stood in line, and was told that this was NOT the place, that I needed to go to the "Tag Agency" on the corner of Coral Ridge and Atlantic. So I went to the address indicated, parked the car and walked up to the office only to be confronted with a sign that they had MOVED to the corner of N. University and Ramblewood. So I went there, took a number and waited in line to surrender the tags After waiting some time, I saw a clerk who wasn't doing anything. I asked if I could return the tags to HER, and she said "Sure". Of course it cost me $3.00 per tag to RETURN them. I kid you not. And 35 unnecessary miles on my car. Oh Well

Wind shift spreads misery as wildfires continue on new path of destruction CLICK HERE FOR THE REST OF THE STORYA day after wildfires threatened high-dollar homes and humble cabins around Possum Kingdom Lake, a shift in the wind sent fires racing toward the towns of Palo Pinto and Strawn south of the lake. They were hoping for a reprieve today with the prospect of cooler temperatures.
On Tuesday night, the town of Palo Pinto, west of Mineral Wells, was under an evacuation order as the fire raced toward the county seat. Prisoners in the county jail were evacuated and county computers removed.
In a last-ditch effort, county employees and sheriff's deputies were wetting down the 1940 courthouse to keep it from burning.

Thats our government at work, Mary Lou! Geeeez~~~sometimes I think they just hire idiots, so they will have someone to blame all their mistakes on! Sorry you had to go through this ordeal after all you’ve been through.

Yep...then after that I spent $200 on a new mattress pad, comforter and linens to replace the ones the hazmat team either confiscated or sliced to ribbons. One of the quilts that got cut up was a hand quilted crazy quilt that I made about 20 years ago. I couldn’t bear to throw it out, so I folded it up and made it into a bed for Linda The Dog.

First of all, just let me say...you are a MUCH better person than I am. Only ONE bad word? I'd have been, at least thinking, a whole slew of them! ;)
The closest DMV to me is 30 miles away and then if I had to run all over the place I would have been soooo very angry!
A question...the tags don't go with the vehicle when it's sold? Can you clue me in on that one, please?
Making a bed for Linda the Dog was such a great idea. A bit of comfort for each of you! :)
*Hugs* and prayers to you, my friend!

I hate that about your hand made quilt! So good you made good use of it. By the way, how is your dog Linda? I bet you’re enjoying her!

Oh no...giving your tags away with the car is inviting identity theft! The turnpike takes pictures of your tag, all the gated communities take pictures of it, and the red-light cameras record them as well. Those tags are like your passport or drivers license. VERY personal!
To: jaycee
Linda is wonderful!
I have had four dogs in my life, and they have all had such different personalities.
Linda is perfect for me at this stage in my life.
