Longhorn cattle introduced as part of a Higher Level Stewardship conservation grazing scheme onto Carnyorth Common near St Just (Cornwall, England) have destabilised a stone of the ancient Tregeseal Circle. Two years ago some 4 or 5 stones were loosened for the same reason. Clumps of cattle hair on many stones show that they are using them as rubbing posts. It is only a matter of time before this herd create more havoc.

Call in Bob Parsons! He’ll mop ‘em up.
Any Texan could tell you to use at least a 5-strand bob-wire fence for Longhorns.
“Higher Level Stewardship.” Grandiose, self-congratulatory bunkum from otherwise-unemployable government parasites.
Their horns are puny and could not be used as hood ornaments on anything other than an old MG or Morris Minor.
Now these, my British friends, are what God meant when She said, "Longhorns:"

Now about these monuments we want to preserve for Pagan Motorcycle Festivals and fake Druid orgies: Just put up some sturdy cement fenceposts with saltlicks nearby and let these cute little cows rub on those. Hell, you might even try old phone poles.
Frankly, the Germans and Poles are more fun with their fake Aurochs breed!

That looks like one of my Dad's stock cows with a really impressive rack tacked on.
Ah, come on! Everyone who knows cattle understands they like to rub up against stuff.
I once saw a Hereford bull, deliriously in bovine heaven with pleasure, rubbing his neck back and forth against a barb wire fence.
So, give the herd something to rub up against. God knows, there are enough manufacturers making such items!
Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above,
Don't fence me out.
Let me roam through the wide open country that I love,
Don't fence me out.
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze,
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees,
Send me off forever but I ask you please,
Don't fence me out.
When I first moved to the mountains many many years ago, the electricity would pop off and come right back on again around 11 a.m. almost every day. They finaly traced it to a bull who was using a utility pole as a scratching post.
Well, really, how do we know that’s not what the stones were put there for? It’s a giant cow playground. The ancients really liked to keep their cows entertained.
“The ancients really liked to keep their cows entertained”
I would imagine the ancients really liked their cows medium well...
A happy cow is a tasty cow.
“Moo ” [BANG!] “ mooo ”
They’re getting their revenge for all the cow-tipping.
