Trump is growing on me more and more as possibly the right person to lead the nation.
I am not 100% convinced he has conservative credentials, but he most certainly would be a person that could get this country back to a position of respect, world standing, economic prosperity etc.
He seems to be talking the talk lately, and saying things that most conservatives are afraid to day.
He might be the right person at the right time.
Any thoughts from fellow freepers?

Sure. I think you’re insane. :-)
But I have to admit I am REALLY enjoying him running off at the mouth, for now. He gets press, too.
Absolutely works for me.
He’s not a social conservative at all. And for that I won’t vote for him. But I’m glad he’s in the race so far, because he does bring a businessman’s perspective to trade and oil. I think he will help steer the discussion to the right subjects and right solutions.
I’d love to see him put in charge of Homeland Security. He’d fire the incompetents and secure the border.
He’s saying things because (IMO), he’s not really going to run. Trump is best at one thing: Promoting Trump.
He’s a vainglorious lib who pimps for Hitlery.
Yes, he is saying things others are too scared to mention. I like that about Trump. Maybe he’s doing it for publicity. That’s most certainly part of it. Yet, he’s willing to stick his reputation out on the line. I’m not decided yet, but I could be convinced to support him if he can also convince me he’s a bonafide conservative. It would take a lot of convincing, but he’s on the right track so far.
Donald Trump, while (perhaps) arguably conservative on some issues, would be such a disaster as a political candidate that grad-students would write doctoral dissertations based on his campaign on how not to do it.
His angle now is good. Asking questions. His history of general administration support, especially Hillary, is a better context to view IMO.
You actually think a social conservative could get elected to the whitehouse???
Obama seemed like the right man too back 2008....and he said all the right things and talked so moderately for a lot of people and once he got in office the he shed his sheep clothing....Now Trump isn’t Obama most likely as far as a leftist but for someone who called John Kerry a friend and liked Hillary etc....i would be highly suspicious.
He seem like he will go to the highest bidder..which ever way!
If the Repubs are stupid enough to run him, Huckabee or Palin then we deserve 4 more years of Osama...
I will state the obvious and say I would vote for him over Obama.
That said, he has way too much baggage from his often odd TV appearances, being bankrupt, wives etc...
He would be too easy for the MSM to change the subject away from the disaster that is Obama.
The GOP nominee must be a conservative without the personal problems who can daily repeat again and again why Obama is a disaster. See the 1980 campaign for example.
>> Those [[oppo research] people, when they hear Trump’s name mentioned as a potential national-ticket candidate, wet themselves in anticipation.
ROFL! Yeah, it’ll be some of the easiest money THEY ever make.
He’s a self-promoter and Hillary supporter. Period.
Don’t be fooled.
Didn’t he go bankrupt twice?
And well you shouldn't be. Trump is for Trump - first, foremost, and always.
Well said.
Trust me, he won't be able to convince you of that.
But, he is a very good salesman. Don't buy it.
I am staying on the sidelines. I think what he’s doing is awesome......but I remain VERY skeptical
It’s a HOOT, tho.
