Feral cats in reign of terror

MOOROOKA: Feral cats ``the size of dogs’’ have been terrorising Moorooka residents for more than a year, with one resident and her dog mauled just last week.

Residents near Gainsborough St say they have been scratched, bitten, hissed at and intimidated several times by the cat pack.

They say they asked five times to have the cats removed, but were told by Brisbane City Council that they would have to set traps and remove the cats themselves.

But now the council is taking steps to have the cats rounded up.

A spokesperson said the cats had an owner who was surrendering some of them to council shelters for rehoming. Residents maintain however that some of the cats are wild.

I still think we should make a feral case out of it, though.

AWww :) That made me smile.

We no longer have big dogs, but a coule of years ago had a Fila Brailiero, Great Dane, Doberman and a Pit all living happily together with our couple of (non-freal) cats.

Needeless to say we didn’t have any problems with animal intrusions.

Yeah, about 15 acres of wooded land in WI.

I was thinking of getting another Fila and naming him “Thug Buster”

You should see gorush’s pics of her in the snow. He has a rare long-haired Corgi that breeders don’t like for whatever reason. I fell so in love with his I was buying one for my daughter for Christmas, but she (19) surprised my by saying ‘mom, I can’t give a puppy the life it needs right now’. So no Corgi granddog for me :( at the moment, anyway :)

But back to the problem. My neighbors got ‘certified’ as a federal feral cat sanctuary but the ferals they feed aren’t into all their lefty I-feel-you let’s relate claptrap and hang out on MY PROPERTY.

Their non-feral cat comes over to challenge the freeloaders on MY PROPERTY.

One thing everyone needs to know is feral cats = DOLE cats. These @*&^@@s won’t chase the squirrels, or even walk 30 feet to wallow in dead carp and catfish on the shore like all the non-feral cats do. They get fed, plan their fight clubs for the night, party then sleep.

I’m just waiting for the next loud thunderstorm.
