Ever Googled Your FR Handle?

Ever tried Googling your Free Republic handle? I just did, and boy, did I find some surprises.
Interestingly, lots of my comments over the years on FR have been picked up and re-posted by bloggers (in a complimentary fashion). I'm honored.
On the other hand, I've also been quoted at Daily KOS and other unsavory cess pits, as a prime example of neanderthal Rethuglican thinking. Sweet. I suppose I should take that as a compliment, too(?)
One uber-liberal blogger who goes by the name "Field Negro", quoted me completely out of context in order to paint a picture of a self-hating black man, cowed and groveling at the knees, among a seething lair of white racists (that'd by y'all Freepers). Sick stuff.
I've also discovered that folks'll stop by your online photo collections and re-post your pics in the strangest places.
Try it sometime. You might be surprised at what you find.

I had no idea there were that many people willing to comment on our posts. There are hundreds of blogs out there with a did you see this? theme. Outside of the DUmmieland update occasionally, I just dont see that here... Tells you something about the right, doesn't it? Frankly, I don't click on a left-wing site unless I've got a VERY compelling reason to do so. I surely don't go trolling their websites, looking for dirt to run home with, like they do.

"This guy is obsessed with all of us;" Bear in mind that many of these people are not employed and have nothing but time to use feeding their obsession. A good many live with their parents and/or are minors.

I go occasionally just to remind myself of how hypocritical they all are (particularly lately with the whole “civility” thing).
Otherwise I can get my fix from the “DUmmie FUnnies”.

I’m cited on a Pipl.com directory, in a listing for people searching for Esther Foo.
Who knew there actually were people by that name? My cited response was “It’s Aunt Esther, foo!”

That's the first time I've used Google in months - and the last for while. Bing search is much better. I downloaded something or other a couple of days back, and the dang thing automatically installed a Bing toolbar on my Firefox browser, and made Bing my default search engine.
I was so annoyed by that, that I un-installed all of it. Still, I have begun hearing some positive reviews about the Bing search engine.

Its when I google my real name that is scary. It has doubled since last time I checked it... About 1,390,000 results Well, you are the freakin' MAYOR, after all. Whaddya expect?
Seriously, that is unsettling. I checked my real name a long time ago, but it's fairly common. I only find references to myself, way down in the pile. It's actually a tiring exercise.

Dang! So many imposters! I suspect that some of them out there really are imposters. It's not like our handles are copyrighted or anything.

From the looks of it, besides the googlebot, the only hits that blog-page is going to get are from FReepers on this thread. :-) What a shame. And the poor moonbat went to so much trouble to copy and paste all those comments. A true labor of love, I tell ya.

Egad. Someone with the name of William Gilbert has drill-knapped my nick. I shall have to have him killed.
I mean that in the nicest possible way.
To: Baynative
The funny thing I found is that when you make a solid conservative statement the lefties consider it as some sort of hate speech. Note my tagline...

talk about taking things out of context and not recognizing sarcasm! I find liberals to be quite literal in the way they see things. The subtle is often lost on them, and a wry wit will often pass unnoticed.
In fact, because of their tendency to see things literally, you have to be careful how you phrase things to them. As with children, they're likely to take what you say entirely the wrong way, unless you spell it out in elementary terms.

Found a few posts pulled into DU, KOS, Alex Jones forums, some other obviously liberal sites and a bunch of other off the wall comments posted on several other blogs and message boards. Interesting, isn't it? I suppose it never occurred to them, that they're creating stronger interest in Free Republic.
