This year was actually a good year for movies, as Ive written repeatedly. The Kings Speech was great; so was Toy Story 3; Inception may go down as one of the most creative films of all time. The Fighter was excellent as well.
Then there were the overrated films. Black Swan was atrociously awful, another Aronofsky masterpiece of self-aggrandizing bullcrap. The Kids Are All Right was a TV movie masquerading as a prestige film because it was about lesbians. True Grit was a remake.

The Godfather was great.
Appollo 13 was OK.
October Sky was a waste of time.
And pulp fiction was so bad I couldn’t make it through the first 40 minutes and stopped watching it.
Titanic would have been entertaining if it weren’t for the two leads, who I found pretty digusting.
Out of Africa?
I never get tired of watching Trading Places. Not profound, just great entertainment.
American Beauty.
The best part of “Titanic” was Leonardo DiCaprio’s character drowns in the cold North Atlantic. As for Celine Dion . . . please . . . let’s not go there.
Also Touch of Evil and The Third Man.
Sometimes all you need to do is see the trailers .
It’s Out of Africa.
Amen
china syndrome.
all jane fonda movies for that matter.
The tan Elvis.
V for Vendetta
Forward a few years, and Cast Away was over rated. Was it good? Well sort of, but way over rated.
BLADE RUNNER was ahead of its time. The director’s cut is much better. Studio made them add a voice over and happy ending. Well... I guess it was happy until the batteries ran out.
JUNO. Teen girl decides not to have an abortion after realizing her unborn child has fingers and toes. And liberals love it. Go figure...
SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE. I thought this was entertaining. Don’t get the recent bashing of it.
LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE. Quirky people go for a road trip and learn things along the way. This is one of those ‘aren’t those people who don’t live in Los Angeles or New York weird hicks?’ movies.
ENGLISH PATIENT. Yawn. Does anyone like this movie?
GIANT. Agree. Dean is great and rest is boring.
AMERICAN GRAFFITI. Great soundtrack. Coming of age. Thought it captured the time.
THE MATRIX. He doesn’t understand the movie? Okay, go watch it again.
ANNIE HALL. Some people hate Woody Allen though his offscreen child raping may have more to do with this than his movies.
LOST IN TRANSLATION. Hot actress in dull movie. You can tell a woman wrote it because a guy would have had Bill Murray sleep with her, his wife shows up, something anything. Instead, nothing happens. Yawner.
Titanic is one of the very few movies that I can watch over and over. I also loved October Sky.
I’ve always thought Legends of the Fall was underrated.
The Matrix, it was irritating to watch.
Ridley Scott’s TV commercials were more interesting than 99.9% of the s*** ObamaHolliwood spews out.
If Scott had only done Alien and Blade Runner his reputation would be secure as a great director.
The Matrix is today’s Obam-America. A false reality created by the media and TV and Al Waleed Fox is no better. All TV loves him, the judiciary has been compromised, the military, the police, you name it. We are living in the matrix. The morons keep watching TV which keeps him in power.
And Avatar
Even Beyond the cliche Leftwing message and story,
it’s still nothing more than a fancy expensive cartoon,
Most overrated move of all time American Beauty.
