2/3 of 33 (the number of senators in Wisconsin) is 22, they only have 19 Republicans.
Interesting.
60% is required for a quorum, which is 19.8.
Dunno. I do know that Gov Walker had a press conf late this afternoon.
Conservative coverage of real time activity (Hot Air, NRO etc) has been abysmal.
Either Rush or Beck covered this a few days ago ,, appropriation bills have different requirements than all other legislation in that state ... they just need a majority present... They should put together their legislative Christmas Wish List and push it through in one day.
(I'm sorry. I couldn't help it.)
The Dems in the Assembly are pitching every possible bitch they can, all of which will be to no avail when the vote comes as every amendment has been defeated by a party line vote. Here’s the latest crapola from about 1/2 hour ago from WisPolitics.org:
After the remaining amendments to AB 11 were laid on the table by unanimous consent, Speaker Pro Tempore Bill Kramer opened the roll to vote on engrossment over howls of protest from Dems.
Dems then objected to third reading of the bill, while Minority Leader Peter Barca railed against the engrossment vote. Dems had sought to debate engrossment before the bill was read a third time.
“Well it is no surprise is it?” Barca asks. “Just like last Friday, once again ... it’s just a naked abuse of power.”
“You are so eager to take away the rights of workers in this state, you’ll stop at nothing,” Barca continued. “There’s no honor. There’s no integry. What a shame, and what a sad day for Wisconsin.”
