If it hasn't happened in your stores, yet, it will. Get ready for higher food prices. Kellogg's has announced that it will raise prices due to the rising costs of commodies. Others will follow that trend.
I've noticed a significant increase in my weekly grocery bill. Spring can't come soon enough for me. I think this year my vegetable garden will be larger.
Here we go. Another weekend.
We’ve been noticing higher food prices for at least a year now, but it’s accelerating. And yet, somehow, by sprinkling magic statistical pixie dust all over the formulas, we don’t have any inflation! It’s incredible!
Gas is about to hit $3.15 a gallon here, food staples like milk and bread are spiking higher, wages are still flat, the job market is still flatter. But if you listen to the Obots, all is well, we’re turning the corner for yet another recovery summer. Those of us who pay attention know better.

I also need to use the snow thrower to clear access for the propane tank installers on Tuesday. I hope to finally have a functioning wall furnace in my shop by Thursday...after inspection and approval.
Jack had a blow-out when he arrived at school, yesterday morning. Finally got it to the tire shop and when they had it up on the rack, noticed that both rear spring shackles had rusted through and broken! The springs were being held in place by the trailer hitch! The Explorer is over at the auto repair shop having new shackles installed this morning. Two new tires as well. Glad I didn't have Jack just install the spare! The car had been low in the back for several years and nobody said anything.
Good Morning from snowy central Texas. I have to finally say, it is cold out there. I really laughed, last evening.
When we came back from Waco, we left the car out front, to unload it. Roomey put on his old Air Force Parka, and moved the car into the garage.
I’ve too, noticed an increase in prices. I think it’s a good idea for everyone who can, plant a vegetable garden this coming spring and preserve as much as possible. I don’t can but I can freeze up a storm. In fact, I still have a lot of okra, tomatoes, beans. It may be a good idea to visit Farmer’s Markets too. I know we will.
AW lysie, that’s not fair...for those of us on Atkins, but thank you for the cuppa.
Looks so good, had bowl of grits, watching TV on the situation in Egypt, watching this ole world go to hell in a hand basket...Whole new way of living over there, thak God for America.
WHICH brings me to what I think of this adm in Wasington, WAY over there heads, in a complete new ball game, left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. These times and happenings is way over there heads.
The weather down here is cold and still is kinda but am happy to report that we have not had any snow although was expecting a flake or two last night.
I shall pass my time this morning cleaning my shack, a real good cleaning, amazing how a small place can get in such a messed up state. I will start cleaning in the kitchen area, someone has left a bunch of plates and things needed washing and put up. Then, mop, mop and mop some more. Only one thing, I am following this thing going on ‘over there’ that I get side tracked.
Glad to see all up and at them this morning, wouldn’t it be nice if all of us could just sit around a table and drink coffee together??

These food prices is the reason I am on a diet....

Such a pretty picture, cloudy here but is suppose to get clean and colder. I wake every morning to something like this, sun coming up thru the trees, roosters crowing.
WE are living in some dangerous times, I think God is going to take this only for so long then zap this ole world....wars and rumors of war, the nations coming against Israel
I am ready, more than ready, for Jesus to return. I’m very tired of the current events, dealing with beauracracy and other earthly matters.
Jesus, come quickly!
Pray for hubby and me. It looks like we are going to be making a decision which will get us to the field again in June. Yesterday was a very difficult day for us. Overnight we got a few answers which seems to be pointing us in one direction (which will get us back faster) and we have to get a few more answers and then spend some time in prayer. Please pray for God’s guidance on this.
I’m sorry I can’t be more forthcoming but there are other personalities involved.
Will do, God will lead ya’ll in the right direction...
Toby
Good morning, lysie
Looks like everyone’s Super Bowl chili is gonna cost more. I sure noticed the increase over what I paid last year. Squeeze, squeeze, squeeze. Alas, we keep on eating. And driving. The two areas most impacting most of our wallets, until (if) cap & trade or its alternative kicks in.
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
What I learned recently is that only certain items are included in the “test” for inflation. Doesn’t seem right. Heck, it’s NOT right. Prices ARE going up, but no inflation, ergo, no coli for seniors on ss. I smell a scam.
Prayer for His Hand in whatever decision you make.
There isn’t anything this administration would do to destroy this America of ours. It sure ain’t their America.
I have two friends whose wages have been cut. No negoisting, just take it or leave it. One had her wages 50%, the other had his cut 20%. They work in different fields, so that is part of the difference in cuts. Also, He lives in Northern VA and she in SE PA.
