I am moving to Tucson, AZ for six months and I need an apartment. Where are the best places to live?
Ping.
Catalina Foothills area.
(Okay, that was just... bad.... sorry... I blame it on the cough syrup.)
That’s funny, I don’t care who ya are.
Into my third double Bourbon of the night, yeah, that is funny...
You want the southeast side.
I’m sorry, that wasn’t funny. The southeast side has some pretty nasty parts.
The east side and south side are low-rent. The north side is nose-in-the-air, meet me for tennis at 4:00 types... The west side is where I'd be, maybe northwest. Take that with a grain of salt, those impressions are a few years old.
Dunno about places to live, but please keep a side arm w/you at all times. (Like under your pillow as well as in your car.)
Godspeed!
The Catalina Foothills has some nice apartments....tennis anyone?
Tucson is a neat place, I like it. I've spend a few months there. I could see myself living there someday... Hiking the Saguaro National parks (east and west), hanging out at Kitt Peak, Desert Museum, Pima Air & Space Museum, or just wandering around the desert southwest within several hours drive...
Up north, towards Oro Valley.
Sahuarita / Vail area? Do they have apartments down there or just suburbia?
Stay out of the South, particularly the South West.
It’s a college town, there are apartments all over town.
Some nice ones in the North East.
Where are the best places to live?
Stay north of River Road and you’ll be OK.
Down there it is pretty much just houses, although I’m sure there are a few complexes. My favorite part of Tucson, though, is the northwest side. I have worked there driving routes quite a bit, but have never lived there.
That’s what I was thinking, west, maybe northwest... Oro Valley, Marana... (a little far out, to be sure) Downtown is, well, downtown and UA territory... The parts of south and east I’ve seen aren’t that nice. North was a little too uppity for my taste. (but definitely a nice place to visit on the company’s dime)
Good luck. Tucson is a really neat little city.
