Happy Lord’s Day to all.
Thanks for all the wonderful posts you have shared here & the pings to many of them
Winter weather is upon us again. AND the ice in my gutters still hasn’t melted from prior ones! sigh.
Keeping busy, enjoying life & trying not to worry too much about the future bumps in road, which I know are pretty close.
(but disliking winter immensely)
Dead skin cells can also harbor in bacteria and other little critters creating various skin disorders. Maybe if you tell the people it isn’t about being clean...it’s about scrubbing off the potential for disease.
As for those with Alzheimer’s, now that’s a different story altogether pending how far gone they are. My two Aunts both had this and we learned to go along pretty much with how they were seeing each moment.
An example was when my Aunt was picking flowers off the headboard of the bed when time for bed. My Uncle went right along with her and picked some flowers too...but then said he was getting tired and wanted to rest a bit and could they pick more flowers tomorrow...but reminding her they needed two more before they rested. She went right along with this and soon they both went to sleep....
I would think something of that order might be helpful getting patients to bath. Join them in the place of mind they are at and then move them to where they need to go in an imaginative way. Yes, it takes time...but you save time by not having resistance to contend with....everyone is better for it.
Giving you great credit for caring for these folks...it can be draining but at the same time very rewarding.
When she was four years old, (and after a year of lessons), they had their first recital, at a lovely place, with a huge stage.
The auditorium was rented at this University Building.
The teacher had lighting specialists, back-drop made to order, orchestra, makeup artists, made sure all the tu-tus fitted perfectly, and each child had been drilled and drilled until the performance went perfectly - in rehearsal.
Then the BIG night finally arrived!
The auditorium was packed with moms, dads, siblings, aunts, uncles, friends and the teacher was SO excited!
Well, after the third little girl came on stage with the wrong steps the second girl pushed her, and told her she did it wrong! The third girl pushed her back, and said loudly, "I DID IT RIGHT, DUMMY!"
At that point another girl came out and screamed, "You don't call MY friend a DUMMY!" and she socked her.
By then, all 16 little girls were on stage, and a free-for-all started! It ended up with a big pile in the center of the stage - pink tu-tus and little legs and arms flying in all directions, with all the children yelling at each other.
The teacher started crying, the orchestra stopped, the audience broke out in mass laughter, and my father (who had traveled a long way for his first grandaughter's recital), started crying, he was laughing so hard.
So much for perfection from children. LOL!!!
And, thank YOU! :)
You are very welcome!
Am I that predictable? :)
I loved watching their show. Such a blend of voices!
Glad you liked it! :)
Love them, have them in my front pasture.
Oh, WOW, LuvFR! That is SO beautiful! It’s a keeper for me! Thank you so much! (And, the comments touched my heart.)
Here is another one that tugs at the heart-strings (I posted it here last week, but you may have missed it.)

(Hope you love ‘furry kids as much as I do........)
Chuck Swindoll tells a story about a man who was shipwrecked on an uninhabited island. Seeing that rescue might be a long time in coming, he painstakingly built a little hut to provide himself protection from the elements, and a place to store the few items he had managed to salvage from the wreck.
For weeks, this man lived in this little hut, with only the hot sun and the cold nights to keep him company. Each and every day, he would prayerfully scan the horizon, hoping for the approach of a ship.
But there was nothing.
One evening, after he had been searching for food on the island, he came back to see that his little hut was in flames. He tried to put the fire out, but it was too late. Everything he had in this world had gone up in smoke.
He went to sleep that night, listening to the pounding of the surf, stunned by his own misfortune.
The next morning, he awoke to find a ship anchored off the islandthe first ship he had seen since he had been marooned. Still trying to believe his eyes, he heard footsteps and then a human voice, saying, "We saw your smoke signal and we came to rescue you."
That's how it happens sometimes. In sovereignty and grace, the worst case scenario somehow becomes the best case scenario.
Sometimes disasters can turn out to be great opportunities for God to work in your life. The Lord is always present with us, always intimately acquainted with our circumstances, and He can take impossible situations and turn them around.

After a church service on Sunday morning, a young boy suddenly
announced to his mother,
“Mom, I’ve decided to become a minister when I grow up.”
“That’s okay with us, but what made you decide that?”
“Well,” said the little boy, “I have to go to church on Sunday
anyway, and I figure it will be more fun to stand up and yell,
than to sit and listen.”

God Forgive Me When I Whine
Today, upon a bus, I saw a girl with golden hair. and wished I was as fair. When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle. She had one leg and wore a crutch. But as she passed, she gave a smile.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I have 2 legs, the world is mine.
I stopped to buy some candy. The lad who sold it had such charm. I talked with him, he seemed so glad. If I were late, it’d do no harm. And as I left, he said to me, “I thank you, you’ve been so kind. It’s nice to talk with folks like you. You see,” he said, “I’m blind.”
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I have 2 eyes, the world is mine.
Later while walking down the street, I saw a child with eyes of blue. He stood and watched the others play. He did not know what to do. I stopped a moment and then I said, “Why don’t you join the others, dear?” He looked ahead without a word. And then I knew, he couldn’t hear.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I have 2 ears, the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I’d go. With eyes to see the sunset’s glow. With ears to hear what I’d know.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I’ve been blessed indeed, the world is mine.
“Cheap Motel”
One night at an economy motel, I ordered a 6am wake-up call. The next morning, I awoke before 6, but the phone did not ring until 6:30. “Good morning,” a young man said sheepishly. “This is your wake-up call.”
Annoyed, I let the hotel worker have it. “You were supposed to call me at 6am!” I complained. “What if I had a million-dollar deal to close this morning, and your oversight made me miss out on it?”
“Well, sir,” the desk clerk quickly replied, “if you had a million-dollar deal to close, you probably wouldn’t be staying in this motel!”

A tourist on his way to Tuscaloosa, came to a fork in the road and stopped. There was no sign indicating which route went where.
Spotting a boy by the road, he yelled out, “Hey, kid, does it matter which road I take to Tuscaloosa?”
“Not to me it don’t.” replied the boy.
Yikes, I missed lunch and am waiting for dinner, lol.
Thanks Meg!
Blessed Sunday to you friend!
