Ok, I am from NJ. Between the high taxes, strict gun laws and crazy liberals I am seriously thinking about moving... have been thinking this for quite some time. Right now I have three children and have to pay for private schooling for all three because the public school's agenda's here are disingenuous and horrible. I want to make sure I do not go from the frying pan into the fire. I have a few choices for job transfers to NC, TX and OH. I need to be in a good area as I have a Neurological disorder and need an area with good doctors. However, I want to look at a state that will not give into any FEDERAL PRESSURE regardless (Are there any states left?). Looking for good infrastructure, few unions, decent schools (or good private schools), friendly gun laws and good hospitals. I guess what I am looking for is a a state that will stick to Constitutional principals regardless of what happens.
Can I go with you?!
Texas.
Go to Texas. Florida is full.
Arizona. It has, shall we say, diversity (make of that what you will); it has Brewer, Arpaio, and exists perpetually in brocko’s crosshairs.
I want to go home to the Shenandoah Valley of VA.
Texas or Florida are my choices. The only reason I stay in California is for the weather — finest in the land.
Suburban Houston?
Houston apparently has a really good hospital system and if you live way outside of downtown the crime level is pretty darn good. (stay away from downtown in the dark, lol)
Well, that state doesn’t exist, but Texas comes closer than most. I recommend that you keep your kids in private school (or home school) wherever you go. The Dewey-ites run the public show, and your kids are worth protecting.
of those 3, Texas is your best choice...plus there is no state income tax there...
SE Utah. Most beautiful area on the planet.
But damn near impossible to make a living there.
but will probably end up in TX, that’s where my dh is from.
I’m working on fixing the one I’m in. My roots are here.
I think if push came to shove in the worst case scenario, Texas is probably your best bet. With the exception of the Pacific NW, I’ve been to all states in the CONUS. It’d be my choice, if pushed.
I’d go to Texas.
Dallas or Houston, TX.
Nebraska has an unemployment rate of 4.4. We have decent gun laws (could be better, but we’re working it) and we have three medical schools in Omaha which means we have some decent docs. I home school so I don’t know too much about the public schools, but there are a couple of really good private schools/Christian schools. It is very flat. I’m not from here, but I’ve been here 16 years.
My daughter lives in San Antonio and would tell you to move there, especially since they have a pretty active seccessionist movement there. They are working on their gun laws as well. I’m not sure about the doctors. She also home schools because the schools in her area are awful. There are private schools in town.
Will I still have to work? If so, I’ll stay where I’m at, because that’s where my job and family is. If I win a huge lotto, who knows?
