Math professors are second only to the philosophy faculty in bat-s#!t craziness. ROTFLMAO! It wouldn't be funny if it weren't true. I have a couple of physics professors I'd add to the list, too, but individual entries aren't allowed.

According to the Cal State Northridge website, he earned a B.S. from Moscow State University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from New York University. So presumably a Russian (the surname Petrov can be of other Slavic backgrounds, such as Bulgarian).
