Anyone seen "Waiting for Superman" movie?

Pardon the vanity, but Dennis Miller on O'Reilly last night mentioned this movie on US education as the best of 2010. It looks like it was made by the director of Algore's movie so I would expect a left wing bias.

Has anyone here seen the movie?

The progressive left is tearing down the system they created and from the ashes of the 'created crisis' will arise the new non-union FEDERAL system. NO State control. NO local control. NO parental control.

Teach For America has thousands of paraprofessional "teachers" waiting in the wings to step into the classrooms of 'under-performing' schools.

Look at the situation in Providence RI where 1900 UNION teachers have been FIRED.

While we focus on the union 'problem' the real crisis is with the curriculum that is indoctrinating the children, not educating them.

The new entry level payed, non-union , para-professionals will be able to supervise the virtual classroom of the future and NO ONE will get between the child and the SCREEN (computer/teacher/trainer).

Waiting for Superman played on EMOTION, and has apparently struck a nerve. Mission accomplished by the film. Crisis has been created but watch out for the solution. Total federal control!!

Just finished watching this film. Wasn’t sure what to expect. I was so angry and just felt so bad for those kids. I know they played on people’s emotions because I cried like a baby at the end. Don’t care. It was wonderful!

There are so many factors involved in creating a great school. No unions, excellent curriculum, dedicated teachers, kids that aren’t hungry, etc. It amazes me how many hoops you have to jump through. We homeschool but through an online academy. The owner is opening a boarding/charity school run out of his home. He has so many families that want to enroll but he can only take small numbers due to laws/paperwork, etc. The kids could be in a horrible environment at home but the state won’t let them in to his home. It’s sheer madness!
