I have to say I liked the show more than I thought I would. Tyler grew on me after I got over the initial weirdness of him.....everytime I look at him, I see an old Jack Sparrow, sans pirate hat. LOL

Me too. They're actually interested in the auditions. All Simon did was lean back and chew on a pen, occasionally say "that was dreadful".

I just can’t bring myself to watch AI this season. Maybe what the show needs is the new blood in the judging, but the last two years were simply too “gay” with the pimping of Adam and the addition of Ellen, no Paula to laugh at, and Simon mailing it in with no enthusiasm.

And really, only a few singers worth watching in any event.

Maybe, just maybe, I’ll tune in once they start the voting performances, but even then I kind of doubt it.

I'm only here this year to find out if I can utterly strike out with a third loser! For two consecutive years in a row now I've completely chosen the WRONG contestant to win it all. I'm hoping against all odds I can keep my perfect record alive this season!

After Megan Corkskwery & Siohban Magnus I have a good shot at hitting the trifecta!

Got through the first love thread! You guys make my mornings after! Rof at the comments and the pandas!

I feel the same way about the new judges. Was prepared not to like them, and to really miss Simon, but it was nice to have 3 judges act interested In Being there. Simon did always seem he’d rather be having a root canal. And Steven Tyler is funny. Jlo is the nice Paula. The dawg is still the dawg.

So it’s not bad after all.

Miscellaneous thoughts:

1. Media reports that Cowell TURNED DOWN $ 150 million to resign with AI. I would have done it for a mere $50 mill, retrokitten probably $75k

2. Heard at the end that they passed through 51 to Hollywood..at that rate they're probably gonna have a much larger Hollywood contingent than previous seasons...IIRC..it used to be between 125-150..anyone have any recall of past years..or might they expand the number of shows devoted to the first cuts..

3. I will never, ever understand why anyone would want to see/hear J-LO, let alone pay a buck to do so..
