crap, I read it wrong..thought it said 4,999...darn
We have dish, and with all the sports packages we pay through the nose — but get all the movie channels, which seem to never be playing anything I want to see — but you don’t pay monthly for the DVR any more. Actually you buy it from a third party. So you own it. It’s like any other piece of tech. As soon as you buy the dish-worthy DVR, it is obsolete and there is a better one which you can watch and tape 4 shows at once on, bla bla bla.
Luckily we did have to get hbo (if you want the huge sports packages you have to get Everything) so accidentally we got to see the best drama on tv today, boardwalk empire. I can’t wait to see season one again, it was that good. Anyone who likes the roaring 20s, prohibition time, great acting, and amazing period sets and costumes, would love it. Great plots, complicated, and not overly violent. Yes.
If he doesn’t want to use it he doesn’t HAVE to use it. I’d see if Comcast offers it. If they do let me know! lol We have Comcast too. Frankly, if they do and it isn’t that much more, I’d just get it. It isn’t much different than a VCR.
Ok I gotta know. How much extra for the DVR? Do you have to have any special cable packages to get it?
Auditions concluded last night for the 10th season of AMERICAN IDOL, and the judges’ remaining picks for the Top 24 semifinalists were revealed.
Next week, the Top 24 will be split into two groups - 12 males and 12 females - and perform for the first time for America.
The 12 male semifinalists will perform Tuesday, March 1 (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), and the 12 female semifinalists will perform Wednesday, March 2 (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Then, tune in to see who America picks to become a finalist on the season’s first LIVE results show Thursday, March 3 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed).
At the end of each performance show, the phone lines will open for at least two hours and AMERICAN IDOL viewers will be able to vote for their favorite contestant(s) via the branded toll-free telephone numbers (1-866-IDOLS-01, -02, etc.).
AT&T wireless subscribers can use their cell phones to vote by texting the word “VOTE” to the four-digit short code (5701, 5702, etc.) that corresponds with the contestant of their choice.
Additionally, fans will be able to cast their votes online at americanidol.com.
To vote online during the voting window, fans should visit americanidol.com and follow the directions.
Fans will be required to log in using their Facebook account to access the AMERICAN IDOL voting page, which will feature the name and photo of each of the current contestants.
To vote, fans will simply choose their favorite contestant, complete the security verification and submit their choice.
After each performance show and during the online voting window, fans may cast up to 50 total online votes for that evening’s performances.
Only fans with a registered Facebook account in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands will be able to cast their vote(s) online.
OMG Wasn’t Boardwalk Empire great?!? Did you know that the guy who plays Al Capone is actually British? He was in “This Is England”, if you are familiar with that movie. The woman who plays Mrs. Schroeder is amazing.
Combining two posts into one, my parents did some Comcast bundle/upgrade thing where they have their phone, internet and cable through Comcast, a DVR and pretty much all the channels Comcast offers and it was the same price they were paying for digital with HBO and internet without DVR and phone for 6 months. After that, I’m not sure how much it goes up to.
I’m not sure I want everything in one bundle. If one goes down they all do. But, I may have to check into seeingwhat it would cost to get DVR.

No prizes until we hit 10,000.
(I’m sure Jonny is trying to come up with a spectacular prize, as in other years. Like Meth Mouth’s wilted bridal bouquet.)
Or a pair of clunt’s magoogaypan eyeglasses
Thanks for the scorecard. I had already forgotten several names.
My faves: GUYS: Paul, Jacob, Casey, Tim
GALS: Lauren Alaina, Ashton, Thia, Pia
I know..just wanted to suprise myself..and I blew it..LOL
FOUR are from the NYC metro area
SIX are from the state of California
TEN are from the Condeferacy, including THREE from LA
FIVE are teenagers...showing the merits of lowering the age eligibility.
My pics..FWIW:
Guys: Robbie Rosen..heartthrob for teen age girls, and hey..it's time we had a Jewish AI
Girls: Pia Toscano: Total package..though I think that Lauren Alaina could easily win it..
Tatiana was their only super big mistake. Lots of the chicks sang better than she did. I think they need to level the playing field (Barack’s phrase). She can’t sing period.
Hi Jonny. :) I haven’t been able to watch the show at all this season. On my three swing shifts a week, I get off at 10:00pm, and for my two graveyard shifts, I come on at 10:00pm. So I just want to thank you again for all your updates. Have cell phone, will read your posts.
I got an audition in a few weeks. I have 2 songs to learn. The guy’s got the lead so I have to sing harmony above 3 people. I’m a newbie at that. I better throw in some Kellie Pickler winks.
Robbie is so good that he will come in second and have a huge career, far exceeding the winner.
We get a finalist like him every year.
Wear something red!
(An old actor’s tip.)
Casey Abrams to remain on ‘American Idol’ after his release from hospital
Good news this Friday afternoon for Casey Abrams and his fans. The singer has been released from the hospital, and he will remain on this season of “American Idol,” which airs on Channel 10 in Tempe.
TMZ is reporting that the singer was released from the Cedar-Sinai hospital after receiving a blood transfusion earlier this afternoon, and he will be able to perform during the taping for the top 12 males in the competition tonight.
He was taken to the hospital on Wednesday complaining of stomach pains. There had been some concern that Abrams would remain in the hospital and lose his spot in the reality competition. This is not the case. He has managed to rehearse for tonight’s taping since his release. Will he be able to put in as good a performance as he has in the past?
Viewers will have to wait and see when the taped performance airs next week. It will be up to America to decide if he stays or goes following his performance. Watch “American Idol” on Channel 10 in Tempe at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
