Why did they reduce the age? The youngest performers are always cut so early even if they make the top 12.

My son looks a lot like the Bieber. When he was in DC this summer, friends of his little cousin followed him everywhere saying, “Ooooh, you look just like Justin Bieber.” Eight and nine-year-old girls. LOL. My SIL called and said, “You are in soooo much trouble.”

Seacrest admits they lowered the age limit this season because of "Bieber Fever".
This segues to a 15 year old girl named Thea.
J-Lo:I love you. I think you're the total package.

Unanimous yes.
Seacrest adds that every 15 year old that auditioned in WI moved onto Hollywood.

Why did they reduce the age? The youngest performers are always cut so early even if they make the top 12. The bad thing about that is that once they've made it that far, they can't do it again. Last I knew anyway. It really might be in their best interest to wait sometimes.
