My husband bought me some of my favorite soup, Campbell's Cream of Potato. My mouth got all ready and I sipped the first spoon. I spit it back in the bowl. It tasted TERRIBLE! I thought it was spoiled. Nope. Now! With Sea Salt Added! If I wanted sea salt I'd go float in the ocean!
I just discovered that they've done the same to Vegetarian Vegetable. No more Campbell's soup for me. And I wrote them to tell them where they can stick their sea salt! I don't buy Healthy Choice soups because they taste awful. So they are now going to force their idea of healthy on consumers? The left is taking over everything and forcing their ideas on us. I'm really angry. They stick their nose in every aspect of our lives.
I guess I'll just have to make my own.
Maybe. But if it does, they can just bring back the old stuff in a smaller can!
And in the meantime, they’ve just conducted millions of dollars worth of market research.
I’ve spent a little time in the agricultural/mass retail part of business. And I can tell you this much.
These guys ain’t gonna lose any sleep at all over a can of soup. The reason is, they are not producing 10,000 cans of soup a day. They are not producing 100,000 cans of soup a day.
Odds are they are producing somewhere between 5 and 10 million cans of soup a day!
A poultry outfit I am familiar with, a company that is not even in the top 5 poultry producers in the US, they produce over TWO MILLION POUNDS of turkey EVERY DAY!!
The numbers really are mind boggling!
Crock Pot!
Throw in onions, peppers, celery, carrots, garlic, salt, pepper, herbs, etc - whatever veggies/meat are is in the frig -
Turn it on low and leave for 8+ hrs
I don't know when exactly but there was an article posted here about it a month or two ago so it must have been recently.
I still can't get my mind around the fact that there's some islamics doing halal to goats in a nearby town for the past six years or so. That area is strict Southern Baptist and you ain't nothin' if you weren't born and raised there for the past three generations. If they've moved into there, it's essentially over for the rest of us.
Tell him to buy Bisquick and make your own. I do. They’re great.
Hubby's lentil is better than any you can buy.
I throw a little mustard in mine - mmmm hmmmmm.
I get the scoots. Doesn't taste right either.
Aw shut up and eat your MSG laden Campbell’s Soups! It’s good for you! ;-)
It still has MSG. You have to read the ingredients.
Ugh.
>>My mom lived to 90....the last 15 years were hell for her.<<
My MIL was a health nut. She couldn’t eat a snack without going for a walk after. She harped on everyone to get more healthy. No sweets, no beef, no cheese. On and on.
Now her body is healthy as a horse and her mind is gone from Alzheimer’s. I pray every day that I am never a burden to my children like she has been her whole life. First as a buttinski then as an Alzheimer’s patient.
And probably just as many illegals as NY state. lol
I know this may sound a little off the wall, but the difference between table salt and sea salt, is that sea salt has a bunch of different chemical salts mixed in with the sodium chloride in sea salt. Most people can’t taste the difference.
But if you can, and you don’t like it, this may mean something, as in having medical significance.
Sea salt typically, in addition to its chloride and sodium, has:
2701 ppm sulfate
1295 ppm magnesium
416 ppm calcium
390 ppm potassium
145 ppm bicarbonate
Along with a whole host of other, trace minerals. Magnesium and calcium compounds may make sea salt taste bitter.
But it might be a good idea to do a simple taste test, to see if there is a particular salt that tastes very bad to you. If there is, it might be well worth mentioning to your doctor.
To start with, most grocery stores sell potassium salt as a salt substitute, as well as Epsom salts, which are magnesium salt, and baking soda, which is sodium bicarbonate.
Just a little bit in an ounce of water, of each of these, just to taste, not swallow, and if one of them tastes awful, though none of them should taste good, it is worth mention.
I seldom eat can soup. I just wanted something that I ate with Grandpa. And it tasted funny. lol
Probably not even close. The locals who who came from Mexico starting in 1598 don't like them. Plus the whole state (121,000 square miles) only has 2 million people.
Only on baloney sandwiches. :-)
LOL!!!
I haven't bought their cressent rolls for years because they started tasting awful. A few years ago Totino's changed the Pizza Roll recipe and what was once the kids' favorite treat was given a big thumbs down. I don't understand why these companies don't worry about losing customers.
Then I still won’t buy it as I buy nothing with MSG in it,
