My husband bought me some of my favorite soup, Campbell's Cream of Potato. My mouth got all ready and I sipped the first spoon. I spit it back in the bowl. It tasted TERRIBLE! I thought it was spoiled. Nope. Now! With Sea Salt Added! If I wanted sea salt I'd go float in the ocean!
I just discovered that they've done the same to Vegetarian Vegetable. No more Campbell's soup for me. And I wrote them to tell them where they can stick their sea salt! I don't buy Healthy Choice soups because they taste awful. So they are now going to force their idea of healthy on consumers? The left is taking over everything and forcing their ideas on us. I'm really angry. They stick their nose in every aspect of our lives.
I guess I'll just have to make my own.
First post laugh of the new year !!
Thanks !!
I only ate 2 of their soups and not very often. Well, I do eat Tomato soup. And we make our own lentil soup. I just get ticked at being told by the left what to eat and I AM going to like it. Um, no. I simply won't buy it.
I think you swallowed your taste buds.
I’ve been using sea salt for the last 30 years. There’s no left or right salt. Regular salt contains iodine and sea salt does not.
Read this little article carefully. It is full of nonsense and contradictions: Sea salt and mined salt are really the same chemically—except that sea salt has more chemicals in it. People get too much sodium chloride in their diet—because their food has too much sodium in it. Salt contains two minerals, sodium and chloride. That’s like saying that Chinese pottery is made of two basic ingredients: Chinese and pottery.
One must have an excruciatingly sensitive sense of taste to find sea salt objectionable, or even to be able to detect a difference between it and ordinary NaCl.
Actually no, it isn't. See post 27.
I make a can of soup if I'm in a hurry or sick. Or being lazy. :-)
See post 27. I really don’t care for the taste.
Sea salt is obtained by evaporating sea water. It is also called bay salt or solar salt. Where it is found, how it is processed, and its mineral content gives it a unique taste. Table salt is pure sodium chloride (NaCl), usually refined from mined rock salt (halite) or from sea salt.
It is the same as the difference between sugar and brown sugar.
They have also made their Products “Halal”.
That would mean that the meat used in the soups have been ritually slaughtered in the muslim way.
If I wanted halal soup, I would go live in Saudi Arabia!
I doubt customers were complaining about the soup tasting the same for decades.
LOL! Do you believe everything you read? Why don’t you check with people who have real reactions to MSG. The same things happens every time I eat it, my heart goes crazy. Irregular and violent heart beats are not something to ignore.
Actually sea salt tastes different.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I came down with a nasty cold a few days ago and was looking forward to a nice hot bowel of Chicken Noodle...it was awful.
I don't know if it had sea salt in it but it sure wasn't the same soup I remembered ****sigh****
Yeah and they ruined Coke. It's definitely NOT the same stuff.
Me too. I love sea salt, in fact, it’s the only salt I use. If I buy canned soup I always look for the brands with sea salt. It is supposed to be healthier as far as salt goes.
Not only do I prefer regular sea salt on my food, I order 20lb bags of Dead Sea Salt to make bath salts from. It’s wonderful for the skin but it’s not for eating, just bathing.
You need to get the Mexican coke, it’s still made with cane sugar.
You have my sympathy.
I get this way when a lefty gets another "smart" idea.
Given the direction we are headed on all fronts, how long do you think it will be before a Government Voucher will be required in order to buy your nanny determined (conceptually, sort of like the ‘death panel’ thing) “limited” amount of salt?
Sea salt tastes different. And there was some interesting info in post 27.
