For many people, Christmas is a time for celebration. It is a time of parties, gift giving, reunions, food and vacationing.
Christmas is also a time of music, and there are countless songs that people enjoy during the holiday season. The music of the holiday season is something that unites people, as both religious and popular songs are enjoyed by a wide variety of people.
Of course, not all Christmas songs are universally enjoyed. Some tend to be a little more annoying than others and some are flat-out painful.
This may be due to the song itself, or it may be because it has simply been overplayed for so long that no one wants to hear it anymore. With that in mind, here are a few of the most annoying Christmas songs and why they are difficult to hear during the season.
Annoying Christmas Song No. 5: I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas
I know I may make somebody mad and I just want to say I have nothing against Elvis or the song Blue Christmas. But I cannot stand the Elvis version of that song. It is the a off key (to my ears) ooooo-oo-oo-oo-oo in the backgrond that drives me crazy.
And anything by the Chipmunks is a station changer for me too.
How about that We Are the World song? I think it’s called “Do They Know It’s Christmastime at All?” Stinkeroo.
No, it really would still be Christmas, trust me.
Bob Geldoff Hates 'Do They Know It's Christmas' Charity Anthem
Bob Geldoff absolutely loathes the charity anthem Do They Know Its Christmas.
But it's not because Geldoffs some modern-day Scrooge. It's because he wrote it!
I am responsible for two of the worst songs in history. One is Do They Know Its Christmas? and the other one is We Are The World, he told the U.K. Daily Mail.
“This list is immediately exposed as garbage because it doesnt have Jingle Bells by the barking dogs.”
OMG,I haven’t thought of that in years. Best laugh I’ve had all day.
ALL Christmas music is annoying except for maybe Silent Night and classical Christmas music.
I posted links to some of the better stuff I've found in the Archive's "78 RPMs & Cylinder Recordings" collection here.
Don't miss The Live Music Archive (band list). My personal favorite band is there, so if it's been too long since they've been through town, I can always find a recent show, like this one, to listen to.
All the audio collections are listed here.
Dude — you are going to kill what little productivity I had in me...
THANKS!!!!
