I finally did it! I bought my first gun. I think of it as the start of a collection. :D
It's a S&W .38. I think it's a good beginning. Next up, my CCP.
COOL! Congratulations!
Good for you! Get yourself some lessons and enjoy.
Spend some time at the range and get to know your new sweetheart. Good choice, but for a concealed weapon, I’d rather have more than 6 rounds, so I’ll keep my Glock 17.
Have fun at the range. Which model?
I’ve been wanting a .38. I can’t decide on hammer or hammer-less.
Uh.. thanks.
Ain’t my thread. I may have actually seen a gun or two before.
Great. Now you have to get into a boat and go out into the middle of a large lake and capsize. All guns lost.
A. The one that's closest when you need it.
I will definitely be spending more time at the range.
Like I said, it’s just the start. I’m sure I’ll get some others that will be better for concealed carry purposes.
Congrats... make sure you get some lessons and be sure to join a gun organization (I used to promote the NRA but they support Democrats and democrats want to confiscate your brand new gun so I’m miffed at them at the moment)...
Miffed, like in “not sending them any more money until they stop supporting candidates in a party that wants to destroy our gun rights...” WISE UP, NRA...
Excellent choice!!
It’a a model 642.
two things to remember:
1.) all gund are loaded unless you have physically checked and verified otherwise
2.) never pick up a gun without checking to see if it is loaded and that definitely includes a chamber check for semi-autos.
You’re a new gun owner. I know old timers that have had accidental discharges for failing to remember these rules. One of them put a 7.62 nato round through every wall of his house and 4 layers of bathtub because he forgot to check the chamber on an FN-FAL.
I started with a .380 semi-auto and traded up to a .357 Magnum revolver. I was nervous about it only being a 5-shot so I traded up to a 10-shot .40 caliber semi-auto. It’s big but will do what I need it to do if I need it to do it. :-)
Did that happen to YOU too?!?!??!
Thanks! It’s been something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time.
Thanks for the reminder.
Many years of happy shooting to you and your family and friends.
