The Spinners were actually (at the time, at least) the Philly Sound, not Motown, and more precisely post-Motown(early ‘70s), along with the O’Jays, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, and a couple of others, under Gamble and Huff and the genius arranger (whatever happened to him?) Thom Bell. Amazing all the great singers that were in those groups, now all but forgotten.
