In direct contradiction to the recent Manchester University article in Nature stating cancer is 'man made' Paula Veiga strongly argues the case for the existence of cancer in Ancient Egyptians. Citing both her own research during her time at Manchester and Professor Zimmerman she questions Prof Davids conclusions. "It seems Dr. Zimmermans work from 1995, my own research in 2007-08 and reputed scientists work (Strouhal, Zink, Nerlich, Capasso and others) were not enough to convince Prof. Rosalie David. "

Manchester University article in Nature stating cancer is ‘man made’
They probably think Global Warming is man made too.
The truly ignorant.
no expert (although I am a cancer survivor) but I suspect that it’s immensely difficult to study cancer in ancient human remains....
how many types of cancer cells will survive over centuries?
how many ancient human remains have even been tested in the appropriate ways to detect evidence of cancers?
sounds like someone went off half-cocked and half-assed b/c they had a ‘political’ point they wanted to make against ‘modern’ civilizations??
They died so young. The poor were not taken care of and the rich were hidden. The biological process for cancerous cells was there, unfortunately, as well.
The smelting of metals such as copper is not very heathy.
Smelting is never healthy, especially under such archaic circumstances. The heat, fumes released from the impurities and burnt material, not to mention the egregious labor, etc.
I would think there’s evidence of more cancer now because there are more people and they live longer.
In ancient times people didn’t live long enough to get cancer.
Or, as my grandsons say, “when you were a boy”. :)
They can do dna analysis of mummies. I don’t suppose finding evidence of tumours is all that difficult.
