Where’s a picture of Mooch-ell’s rather large posterior to highlight the disgusting hypocrasy of her preaching to anyone about weight control. I just don’t understand how she gets away with this. And where in the Constitution is there anything about weight loss, eating salads, etc.? When will this madness stop!
Sometimes I made my boys lunch and occasionally I let them buy. I always felt better about what I made, because like you I actually MADE it. Of course, back then, we rarely ate fast food, so most of their intake was real food anyway. When they went to Catholic school there was no school lunch program so they had to bring a brown bag. It was a BIG DEAL if I bought something to put in their lunch like store bought cookies because they were on sale or I had a coupon that I couldn’t say no to. ;)
I did the same thing with my 5 children all the way up through high school. I think I could count on one hand the number of times they had bought a school lunch. In fact, I have a daughter that lives at home that teaches at an elementary school and I still make her lunch. (ok, maybe that's going too far, but she leaves really early in the morning and is usually rushing to get to school).
Anyway, like you said, the other kids were always jealous of my kids' lunches. It's surprising how creative you can be with different lunch items.
One time, a neighbor suggested I let my kids make their own lunches as she does since they know what they're in the mood for that day. I broached the subject with my kids and they just looked at me and laughed.
My favorite section of the Constitution is the salad bar “part.”
My favorite section of the Constitution is the salad bar, 3 gallons per flush, privacy, abortion, penumbra, certain light bulbs, takeover of GM and firing of its boss, Nobamacare, seat belts and head rests in cars, etc. . . . ad nauseum.
Another thing for students to trash.
“While clean salads are an excellent source of vitamins and fiber, salad bars are one of the most common sources of food poisoning....” — http://www.wikihow.com/Avoid-Food-Poisoning
Over/under on how many weeks before the first one?
I always go to the salad bar 10 minutes before the students do. I figure after that—the spit would be flying.
That was the first thing in my mind as well. School kids aren’t exactly health minded as well as liking to play pranks. Wait until the latest science project ends up in the salad ... or worse yet, what might end up in the Ranch dressing.
My 12 year old grandson has turned brown bagging into a business. Sells most of his lunch...which is why he’s so skinny...besides the fact that he runs cross country, plays lacrosse, football. Coach says in 2 years, he’ll be the school’s fastest runner.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Noooooo!!
Salad Bars are a Gateway Drug to kids mainlining Blue Cheese Dressing! That’s how I started...
*SMIRK*
What idiotic idiots! How about JOBS and no more inflation rather than nanny stating our kids?
They have salads in schools.
“hydrogenated oil laden salad dressing on to”
Oil bin Laden?
“who recently teamed with Whole Foods...”
Follow the money
LOL. That’s the oil Bush went to war for.
When I was in high school 30 years ago, my (small) high school had a salad bar. It was very popular.
This isn't a bad thing.
The Whole Foods owner spoke out about obamacare a few months ago. Maybe teaming with Whole Foods is hush money for him. You know, keep your mouth shut and we’ll use your stores.
I was waiting for someone to bring this up. I would go eat lunch at my youngest's elementary school occasionally. The lunch ladies would automatically put an apple or some carrots on all the trays. Guess what ended up in the trash can, untouched? About 90% of the fresh fruit and veg, and even the milk, in most cases. The same kids who would ditch the good stuff would be back in line for ice cream bars later...
Guess more kids are gonna start bringing their lunches now.
