How about if you're flying into or out of the same airport you've been flying into or out of for a dozen or more years and that airport is within 50 miles of where you've also lived for a dozen or more years? (I did have a govt clearance too BTW.)

But this isn't really about security. It's about turning the United States into a Police State.

One wonders, how does a TSA mouth-breather have any self-respect? I mean, really, when out socially and the subject of “what do you do for a living” comes up, what do they say? I imagine it would be along the lines of, “Oh, I drive a pig farm manure truck” rather than admit they sniff and grope crotches for a living.

Sounds good on paper (flying from a local airport etc.), but I live near EWR and my office is right by BWI. I fly from either depeding on the day and the return (I'm flying to Ft. Hood From BWI this afternoon), so that option isn't really practical. Also, the return flight is from all different areas (at least 10 different this year alone, maybe more for me).

There has to be a way to pre-screen, but paying some other company to do the background check is not only a waste, but a risk. I don't think that the agencies that hold my security clearances would like for those to be disclosed to a third party.

I also think there is underlying racism. Do a casual scan of any air terminal you may use. Are the passengers disproportionally white or black?

Yes, it is also about a government jobs program for communist ( oops! “Democrat”) votes.

And...It could also be a Cloward Piven strategy to bankrupt private airlines, thus making room for government take over of the industry.
