DWTS Season 11 enters its eighth week of competition tonight (Nov 8) and thus, the Bristol Palin enigma continues.
'Bristol the Pistol' has taken aim & shot down better qualified & much more fiercely talented candidates in her quiet wake to win the coveted mirror ball trophy.
But the burning question remains: how does Palin continue to linger on the competition & stir the ire of many DWTS fans who view the show as a talent (not popularity) contest?
While continually scoring at or near the bottom of the Judge's leader board since the onset of Season 11, Palin has somehow beat out competitors who have outscored and outperformed her, i.e., Florence Henderson, Rick Fox, and even Mike The Situation Sorrentino who exited the show at Week 4.
But what is really at the crux of the Bristol Palin matter is not the fact that Palin continues to receive enough votes to stay on DWTS. That part is evident.
The real question is why & where those votes come from. That is, are those votes generated by Sarah Palin supporters, or are they cast because people really like Bristol?
Hopefully, it's because people truly like 'Alaska's Favorite Daughter', find her refreshing and just want to see her win because of who she is.

First Carrie Ann complained that Brandy had all that good musicality and Maks was mucking her up doing it almost alone. Len agreed with her after being prodded, and given them kudos.
lol! No thanks. I really do admire these people. Dancing is so hard. I am the worst dancer in the world. I just don’t get it. I was watching this program on the tango yesterday and am just in awe of these people. It’s the one thing I wish I could do that I just can’t. I’ve tried.
There is a lot of money at stake here for the people who can hang in the longest.
If Maks gets people annoyed, they won’t vote for Brandy. On Facebook’s DWTS page, people have conflicting opinions about what Maks said.
This was Bristol’s best dance.

I agree on all counts. The woman who apparently didn’t have enough fans (Andrina?), since she was very good but thrown off anyway, sometimes was a little laid back on her leg movements, too, but very good otherwise. I was surprised that she was dropped before some of the others, but that’s how it goes with a semi-dancing, semi-popularity contest.
I wonder what the insurance rates are for those who’ll be on Skating with the Stars?!
10 votes for Bristol and five each for the others except for Kurt. He was pretty bad.
Bristol had the most difficult dance - by far - and deserved to get at least all 8s.
I did ABC and just finished all my calls.WOOOHOOOO :)
I didn’t like Kurt’s shirt.
I just made my five votes from my land line and 5 online.
What’s the temp in Florida?
I could have sworn I heard Len ask her to come back again. It was during the tine he was explaining how it was much more difficult for her than the others in the last dance they did.
Grrr. I keep trying to get rid of that silly > in parenthesis in the tagline. It shows up on it’s own and I can’t get rid of it. Any ideas?
What would he have meant by that?
She may have used a surrogate mom to carry the child. That’s what these types do to maintain their girlish figures.
WooHoo,hope she makes it another week.
Post back to me and make sure you delete it then.
I agree, Rummy. Jennifer’s constant crying and outbursts are so annoying. She shouldn’t have accepted the offer to perform if she isn’t up to the task.
I think the only reason she is still on is cuz of Derek. He is one hell of a dancer and choreographer.
