LOL...but you are both surviving so it must be a good thing!
:)
One sunny day in January, 2013 an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he’d been sitting on a park bench.
He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and
Said, “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.”
The Marine looked at the man and said, “Sir, Mr. Obama is no
Longer president and no longer resides here.”
The old man said, “Okay”, and walked away.
The following day, the same man approached the White House and Said to the same Marine, “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.”
The Marine again told the man, “Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr.Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here.”
The man thanked him and, again, just walked away.
The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke To the very same U.S. Marine, saying “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.”
The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the Man and said, “Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been Here asking to speak to Mr. Obama. I’ve told you already that Mr. Obama is no longer the president and no longer resides here.
Don’t you understand?”
The old man looked at the Marine and said, “Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it.”
The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, “See you
tomorrow, Sir.”
What pretty glittery butterflies, Teenie!
Thank you!
I did! I had a great day. Some wonderful scriptures that touched my heart...........getting ready for Veteran’s Day - which always leads to a ‘kleenex’ day for me.
This week is the anniversary of my husband’s journey to the Golden Gates, eight years ago - after 28 years in the United States Marine Corps. Two Purple Hearts and the Navy Cross........
Sigh. (Semper Fi, my dear - Semper Fi)
oldteen, another photobucket graphic I missed by not being here earlier! :(
I really like your Caturday posts, Amy! LuvW, I'm smiling at the sweet expression on the face of that adorable kitten all cuddled up with it's stuffed animal, and your soft greens matched that beautiful cat's green eyes perfectly, Meg - hope you AND jaycee both felt better today.
Wait! What? We're giving away prizes for Post #200 and #700 now?!!!! LOL! They were cute, too, but I thought EVERYBODY'S cats 'n dogs posts were pretty and/or cute and/or funny as can be and I had even made one to post yesterday - but the day got away from me, so heck, I'll post it tonight anyway!
jaycee, I always 'want' to do that and have the best intentions, but .............
Actually, if I keep two windows open side by side, one of them being Amy's thread, and the other being notepad, I can scan the posts in one window and type the names to paste in the "address box" as I read them, while also typing responses. I wish that I didn't have so many days in between when I can't seem to 'get here'. :( Know you're already gone for the night as most of you are. Love your little polar bear cub "hugs".
I'm going to say goodnight and be back tomorrow to read the beautiful Sunday posts.
Veterans Day is not the celebration it was when I was young :(. Most only know it's a day off for them. Very sad!
Two Purple Hearts and the Navy Cross
Cherish those forever! You must be very proud! My Marine isn't doing well in the health department. Breaks my heart. Semper Fi to you dear yorkie, Semper Fi!
May the Angels watch over you as you sleep.
Hope to see you tomorrow.
Hi Billie.. I have been negligent in posting all over the place..

It is fun to see all the results of the Billie101(and more advanced) classes over the years
When my daughter and her family were in town for a visit, I had a chance to take my son and two sons-in-law out for a guy outing.
We decided that while the ladies were shopping, we would go to a firing range and practice shooting. We rented two pistols and took aim at our targets. While shooting, all four of us discovered that on one of the firearms the sight was set too low. If we aimed using that sight, we hit the bottom of the target. We had to aim high in order to hit anywhere near the bulls-eye.
Isnt life a lot like that? If we set our sights too low, we really dont accomplish all that we can. Sometimes we have to aim high in order to reach a desired goal.
What should be our aim in life? How high should we point our ambitions? Well, since Scripture is our true guide, we will shoot for nothing but spiritual maturity. In fact, in Pauls farewell to the people of Corinth, he said, Aim for perfection (2 Cor. 13:11 NIV). And we also have the high aim of these words from the lips of Jesus, You shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect (Matt. 5:48).
Perfection is a lofty target, and we wont attain it in this life. But if we want to honor God and get close to that high goal, we need to aim high.
Hi Billie! Love it ALL!! Dog’s biscuits/Cat’s yarn!! Graphic is adorable and the cat saying is so funny!! Thanks very much!!
Good morning on Monday! I think that every Sunday you post your prettiest ever! And then the next Sunday it’s the prettiest all over again! I LOVE this - the church steeple, the red leaves, the verse, and the whole composition!
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Jacob was sworn in at 10 AM and is on his way to Fort Jackson for basic training.
Just beginning to enjoy all your individual Sunday posts - the autumn leaves in the water! NICE! I know the rest will be, too. :) Hope you’re feeling better today than yesterday and yesterday was better than the day before.
Now you’re talkin! Favorite way to eat apple pie in our house is warm with ice cream! Yummmmm!
I knew this was going to be a yorkie post when I saw that scrumptious-looking apple pie a la mode!
I am going to have
the triple decker ham and cheese sandwich,
A King sized Cocoa Cola
And for dessert,
I'm going to splurge on a banana split!
Grand total (for mine) - 95 cents!
Good morning, Miss Kitty. What a pretty butterfly you snapped on your King’s Ranch!
