What a ridiculous list.

Boarding on pathetic. Shows the cultural gutter America is nowadays.

She did an album called “Ski Trails.” I think it was a “specially” album, because it is impossible to find, though I downloaded all but one (it wasn’t available-probably copyright problems) in the proper order. It was one of our Christmas albums, although I don’t think there are any “Christmas songs” on it. It sure brings back memories, though.
I’m glad someone else sees her as the vocal master she was.

Loved the youtube video of "Ave Maria".

I got a feeling for her classical capabilities from this one (especially at the chorus at 3:25)...

"Turunen could be an up and comer on the Classical/Opera circuit..."

I'd love to hear her perform "The Queen of the Night aria" from Mozart's "The Magic Flute" ...

(E) Doris Day

This. Surprised that took so long.

Carey deserves to be on the list, and probably not anyone else. So my list:

Mariah Carey
Patsy Cline
Reba McIntyre
Doris Day
LeAnn Rimes
Linda Rondstadt (have to agree)
Karen Carpenter (also agree)
Grace Slick (also agree)
Mary Travers (no one mentioned her?!)
Ella Fitzgerald (also agree)

Martha Reeves, who I knew in the 60’s was a relatively unknown performer who I always considered one of the most underrated female singers of that generation.
Most people only recognize her from her work as lead singer of the Vandellas but her solo recordings were so much better.

Are you sure about that? I have a friend who thinks Helen Thomas is one the most beautiful women he's ever seen.

+1. There are few things more painful than Whitney Houston’s “I Will Honestly Love You.”
