I don't like the pink chin straps, wistles, towels, etc. being used by the NFL this week. There are better ways to support cancer awareness. Why should breast cancer be singled out? Why not prostate cancer?
I sure miss Pete Rozelle as NFL Commissioner.So...will the pinkness be worn for all games in Oct.?
What does that have to do with the fact that a marketing campaign for a “cause” — any cause — has gone to ridiculous levels?
You seem to be buying into the stereotype that “pink” means “girl” which means “weak.” Hence your argument that these men are still “strong” even though they are wearing a symbol of “weakness.”
I don’t buy that stereotype. But, anyway.
Sorry, that’s not what the backlash to the huge, intrusive, now-to-the-point of obnoxious Komen/Planned Parenthood campaign is about.

How come female sports don’t highlight testicular cancer?
Just more whiny people. The second one is especially funny, there wasn’t any CGI.
And note, I never said there wouldn’t be any backlash, as a matter of fact if you’d actually bothered to read what I wrote you would have noticed I actually ADVISED making it a complete waste of money and effort by ignoring it.
The St. Louis Archdiocese has said that it “does not endorse” the Komen Race for the Cure because:
1. Some Komen chapters (St. Louis not among them) give money to Planned Parenthood which, even if only dedicated for breast health issues, frees up PP money for abortion, contraception, etc.
2. Komen ignores the scientific evidence linking abortion to breast cancer.
3. Komen supports embryonic stem cell research.
The Church is not involved with Komen.
