With all the stress we are experiencing due the direction our country is headed, I thought I would try something a little different and fun for openers. Name your favorite television comedy/variety shows from the 60s-90s. What actor/actress made that show great?

Regarding Colbert, FoxNews didn’t report his crass corn remark, at least they didn’t on Bret’s show yesterday, we watched carefully.

Apparently somebody at Fox decided it wasn’t fit for viewing? Which is unusual for the media industry these days. The focused on Colbert being “in character” during his....testimony.....but said nothing about his raunch.

The thing that I find amazing and encouraging, and something that even Peggy Noonan et al have not picked up on yet is: Everybody keeps talking about how this is a 'new phenomenon', this attitude of the Tea Party and the wider support network. In reality, this is the dawn of the return to the American values that made America what it always has been. Reagan tapped into it in the 80's, but the public was still in set-and-forget mode with elected prima donnas, who merrily sold us down the river from both sides of the aisle.

Now the public attitude towards the elitists is no-nonsense. Notice how it takes no effort whatsoever for the vast majority of Americans to be in tune with the movement -- the movement is a reaffirmation of what always was and what we need to return to again.

Enough! Congress, YOU'RE FIRED!!! ;-))

JT said they weren’t going. They didn’t think the music would be very good.

That kind of goes along with the topic of the day...old tv.

I remember Lucy and Desi kissing and I would close my eyes with embarassment. I understand that is a bit much, but goodness do we need so much trash on tv?

I think there are two reasons for this:

  1. The WWII generation, which didn't challenge authority, is dying out and is replace by baby boomers who, even us conservatives, challenge almost all authority, and
  2. The rise of the internet which enables us to easily check sources and confirm facts. We don't have to take their word for it anymore. They're not the sole source of information.

Fox and Friends is doing their best to present soft porn as mainstream.

Yes, you are right.

The other thing in play in 2010 is that I think the WWII generation went along with Dem liberal entitlements because they grew up during the Depression and were always told that if we didn't do it we'd be in another Depression. (Mr. Soetoro uses this same trick when he tries to defend stimulus as being the one thing that stopped a new Depression. As if.)

Now we see that even after spending trillions, even after spending more in deficit in one year than we have cumulatively overspent since 1776, even after spending oodles of money we don't even have and going into hock with the world, none of it works.

None of it.

Nobama knows what he should do to instantly turn this ship around back from the falls and into safer waters, but he and Conressional Dems (and the squish Rinos) can't bring themselves to admit that Reagan was right and that they themselves were purveyors of pure, Grade-A tauroscatology, baked wind and policy based on the kind of late-night, lefty, dorm room bong-hit economics featuring the envy and class warfare Nobama walks around wearing like an old, comfortable sweater.

That's why I say that America is saying: Enough! Congress, YOU'RE FIRED!!! (And hang in there Barry -- YOU'RE NEXT!!! ;-))
