Sept. 21) -- UFOs have monitored and possibly tampered with American nuclear weapons, according to a group of former Air Force officers who will make their claims public next week at a Washington, D.C., news conference.
"While most of the incidents apparently involved mere surveillance, in a few cases, a significant number of nuclear missiles suddenly and simultaneously malfunctioned, just as USAF security policemen reported seeing disc-shaped craft hovering nearby," says Robert Hastings, author of "UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites."
On Monday, at the National Press Club, Hastings will present six former Air Force personnel who will break their silence and disclose dramatic first-hand experiences with UFOs at nuclear weapons sites.
In a statement, Hastings said, "At long last, all of these witnesses are coming forward to say that, as unbelievable as it may seem to some, UFOs have long monitored and sometimes tampered with our nukes."
Hastings' co-host for the news conference, ICBM launch officer Capt. Robert Salas, was witness to a UFO incident in 1967 that, he says, caused a missile disruption at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, and he was ordered to keep quiet about it.
"The Air Force is lying about the national security implications of unidentified aerial objects at nuclear bases, and we can prove it," Salas said.
Another officer scheduled to appear at Monday's conference, Col. Charles Halt, witnessed a disc-shaped object shooting beams of light onto the joint Anglo/American RAF Bentwaters airbase in England in 1980. The lights were reportedly near the base's nuclear weapons storage area.
"I believe that the security services of both the United States and the United Kingdom have attempted -- both then and now -- to subvert the significance of what occurred at RAF Bentwaters by the use of well-practiced methods of disinformation."
They're just checking us out as a possible refueling station!

when I was still in the USAF I heard about several incidents from former missile officers. Totally normal people who experienced not-normal things in the heart of the American continent.
Not to mention my own Dad’s experience as fighter pilot being stalked by a UFO during Korean war- never told anyone outside our family, didn’t want to go through the debriefing and lose his flying status
Is this an “Official” News Conference or something called outside the main stream news reporting agencies?
I am well familiar with the incidents they are referring to.
I just want to know if this will make it politically significant or will just end up as a bunch of non media people trying to make the news any way they can?

Kind of what I thought. Can’t produce facts so he wants to produce speculation and possible fantasy!
I personally think the incident was probable if not highly likely but I doubt anyone could produce “Provable” facts.
If, by monitoring, you mean by humans, of course. That is what the Missile Combat crews do in their underground capsules 24/7.
The guy purports that UFOs flew over some of the missile fields and many individual Launch Facilities, LFs, reported spurious indications including momentary loss of communication between the LFs and the capsules. That is an occurrence that can happen now and then and his only evidence is a few interviews with personnel telling of these happenings way back when. None of them ever happened from 1975 to the present when I had/have access to information.
It is always easy to talk about "facts" that can't even be verified any more. That kind of paperwork is not archived as it is just routine operational garbage that is kept for several years then tossed. The story teller can then say it was destroyed to keep things secret to make it look like a conspiracy.

FYI, the Minuteman was maintained in Strategic Alert (ready to launch) and that mode could be degraded in several measures some allowing launch some preventing launch.
Atlas and Titan required much more preparation to enable launch because of their liquid fueled configuration.

I remember last year or so ago the *Buzz* was Aliens were going to show themselves to the world, a claim made my Blossom Goodfellow or someone like that, anyway’s the Aliens were a *No-show* and she has been in hiding ever since.

I listen to George Noori sometimes and I occasionally catch these folks yakking up their theories. It’s entertaining anyway, but until I see a martian (or bigfoot, or chupacabra) with my own two eyes, I’ll remain a skeptic.
Watching a ufo show on the tube the other nite, seti people stated that if they do have contact they would first notify government officials first, as they would not make public if they had contact.
“Supposedly a retied NORAD Officer states the Aliens will make themselves known on October 13th, 2010, that date is also the FATIMA Appiration anniversary....”
