Dr. Mohler is actually quite brilliant. Rather than make a snap judgment of him, I would encourage your reading his daily posts.

Believers are called to meditate upon the Word of God — an external Word that comes to us by divine revelation — not to meditate by means of incomprehensible syllables."

Does he feel this way about speaking in tongues?

He may be brilliant, but he is talking about a subject he knows very little about. I am a Christian and read & study the Bible daily. But also practice yoga and work with people going through spiritual psychoses on a regular basis. I’ve been studying the kundalini process associated with yoga for about twenty years and have found it very similar to the experiences described by St. Theresa of Avila in her book “The Interior Castle,” where she outlines the spiritual awakening process.

I will read some of Dr. Mohler’s information and reserve judgement on the rest until then. Thank you for your defense of him as I am always looking for excellent Bible scholars.
