There you are! How are you? You haven’t had that eye treatment yet, have you?
Not yet, doing some real serious reading to get ready for it cause I know I will be out of service for a few days.
You got any plans to go back to your Islands anytime soon??
Toby
Thank you. He was seen crossing a busy four lane hwy during rush hour yesterday and made it as drivers put on their brakes. Hasn’t been seen since though, despite 6 hours of searching in the last place he was seen.
I pray a kind person rescued him and will post an ad in the paper or at local stores.
Good morning Toby.
We are hard at work to be able to return in January. Pray that it is so.
Why, yes it is..from his stash! Bush didn't have a stash. /s
Good morning. Going in late today because I’m fasting for my regular cholesterol test which is on the way to work, but much closer to me than work.
Ouch! This is only going to sting a bit. Except when they miss and probe around for the vein.
I’m hoping they get a clear reading for that test. I don’t find it hard to fast as far as hunger goes. But I find it hard to remember not to follow my daily habit and eat without really thinking through my schedule.
Get this...there's some bill in a Congressional committee which includes a "transaction" tax...covers deposits and withdrawals, direct deposits, and so forth at banks....nice, eh?
The Woodwardd book:
& did y'all see this? What set John Bolton off
We are regressing to a period of rulers and serfs.
But speaking of banks, has anyone else had this type of experience? My daughter did some work for someone. They paid her by check the amount which they had agreed upon.
But when she took that check to that person’s own bank, the bank wanted to charge her a hefty fee to cash their patron’s own check. In other words, my daughter’s remuneration would be lessened for the convenience of another person patronizing a particular bank.
I think that if a bank has such a policy, those of us who don’t have accounts in that bank, say “Acme National Bank”, should decline to accept checks drawn from “Acme National” but rather insist, in such a case, on being paid in cash.
What think you? Do you have any other suggestions for dealing with this?
oh my...that’s a new one for me...hope someone has an answer Jemian.
Wow! Mr. Bolton has The Won pegged.
I have never heard of this. Maybe it is a new Obama transaction tax?
That’s an interesting perspective on Caligula. I can’t agree with the analogy though. The Pied Piper actually did fulfill his contract and the townspeople cheated him. I’ve also seen Caligula compared to Robin Hood, “stealing from the rich to give to the poor.” Actually Caligula is more like the Sheriff of Nottingham who stole from the middle class in the form of exhorbitant taxes. Robin Hood merely confiscated what was stolen from the middle class and gave it back to them when they had become “the poor” by the unfair government.
It happened in 2008, I think, maybe 2006, to my daughter. She was paid with a check drawn on an account from Compass Bank here in Auburn, AL. Compass Bank was planning on charging her for cashing that check because she didn’t have an account with them. It was pointed out to them that she was under 18 and according to their small print that made her exempt. I think this fee was thought up by the bank itself and not a government mandate.
I hope this fee has now been withdrawn. But if I get such a check, I will ask the writer to please give me the cash.
Ok, Sponsored by Chaka Fattah (HORRIBLE, FILTHY CRAT 2-PA)
Here is some of the text:
"Amends the Internal Revenue Code to impose a 1% fee, offset by a corresponding nonrefundable income tax credit, on transactions that use a payment instrument, including any check, cash, credit card, transfer of stock, bonds, or other financial instrument. Defines "transaction" to include retail and wholesale sales, purchases of intermediate goods, and financial and intangible transactions. "
America you wanted this. Eat it.
The worst part for me is going without my coffee fix. They said nothing but H2O for 12 hours.
When I try to find the words for this regime, I find myself using words that I did not know I knew.
