I will be handling this thread on a temporary basis only, and as time and health permits. You people are used to - and deserve - more. Hopefully, someone more qualified will step up and take this over. :)

Survivor: Nicaragua is the 21st season of Survivor. It will moving to Wednesday nights this season. In fact, it begins tonight, September 15, 2010, 8/7c.
The theme this season will be Young vs Old. The players will include a former NFL coach (Jimmy Johnson) and an amputee triathlete champion (Kelly Bruno).
From Wikipedia:
Survivor host Jeff Probst, has also announced that the Hidden Immunity Idol will continue to be used in the game. However, as idols have been found too easily the past two seasons (most often by Russell Hantz), or as the show's producers have dubbed it, "The Russell Factor", the idol will be hidden differently. The clues to the idols' locations will be visual rather than written as in past seasons. In addition, the tribes will be vying for control of a new item, the Medallion of Power, that, when used, gives an advantage in a challenge, but is then transferred to the other tribe.
Let's meet the players.
Here are photos of the players.
Listed below are links to player profiles. They include a video clip of the player, which is, unfortunately preceded by a short - but annoying - ad.
La Flor (age: 30 and under)
.
Espada (age: over 40)

Does anyone have any idea yet of where this Redemption Island will be? I’m talking geographical location.
This one will also take place in Nicaragua, near the same location.
I found the following while exploring today ...
If elements of the new theme sound a little like the infamous Outcasts twist that flopped during Survivor: Pearl Islands, never fear. There won't be any "no fair" cries this time around. Probst insists all the players know what to expect.
I just told everybody (at the opening) its going to happen, Probst said. Make no mistake: When youre voted out, youre not going home, and somebody that you vote out could come back and bite you in the ass. So I have no problem with people coming back into the game because everybody knows up front. A rule cant be unfair if you know going in. Its an equal opportunity.
Huh. Ok Jeff, whatever you say. It'll be different because you've told the world up front about it. Just another little thing that will take away time we could use getting to know the players. But ... whatever.
Thanks! I guess that saves on production costs.
Worst season ever, but still better than 90% of what’s on TV.
At least Fabio won, and that was the best outcome possible in my opinion. I doubt if both NaOnka and Purple Kelly voted for Fabio, and I doubt that Jane voted for Chase.
I would expect that Jane voted for Fabio, and NaOnka for Chase from everything that went on... Hopefully, they will tell us sometime.

Voting for Fabio: (5) Benry, Dan, Marty, NaOnka, Purple Kelly
Voting for Chase: (4) Alina, Brenda, Holly, Jane
Voting for Sash: (0)
Wikipedia now lists this as verified - per footnotes to referenced articles
That's just it. We enjoy getting to know the players but that seems to be cut more and more every season.
Thanks! I’ll put up the new thread soon. :)
