Catch! First Lady Michelle Obama gets physical as she shows off her moves on the sports field

She has become a champion for fighting childhood obesity since moving into the White House.

And First Lady Michelle Obama led from the front as she showed off her sporting prowess at an event in New Orleans today.

Mrs Obama, 46, is well known for her regimented fitness regime. And she certainly looked full of energy as she took part in a sports day at the city's Woldenberg Park.

Mrs. Obama and former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy visited Woldenberg Park, along with former New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister and former Tampa Bay linebacker Derrick Brooks.

Her visit is the day before the Super Bowl champion Saints host the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League's (NFL) first game of the regular season.

Dressed on a black leggings and a sports top, Mrs Obama leaped into the air to catch a ball, weaving in and out of a mini assault course.

Mrs Obama's Let's Move programme to improve children's nutrition teamed up with the NFL's Play 60, a programme encouraging an hour of play a day.

And she certainly taught by example as she ran, jumped and puffed her way through an energetic session along with the NFL players.

Addressing the crowd of children, she said: 'We want you guys to grow up strong. And we want you guys to grow up healthy.

'You can be smart. You can be funny, but if you are not in good health, it is going to be a hard road to go.'

Time for another “Salamander Random Hypothetical Query”: If your toilet paper is black, how do you know when you’re done?

You just had to go there

I remember my mom fighting and clawing her way into a girdle thing that looked like white bike shorts.
[pointlessly, I might add]

I’ve also seen the late night TV ads for a body-squishing undergarment thing [can’t recall the name] that makes the wearer look like an over-stuffed sausage rammed inside of an empty toilet paper tube.

It goes from thigh to ribs and all I could think about was “OMG! How can they BREATHE in that?!?”.

The women seemed excited by their “new bodies”...breathlessly so, in fact.

I wore a corset with a Halloween costume, once.

Longest 4 hours of my *life*.

Wow. Moochelle can out-run a morbidly obese black boy.

That about sums it up perfectly.

When I was a very young kid, the thought of a “living bra” scared the snot outta me....LOL

My mom [for sadistic reasons known only to her] bought me those horrid “bullet bras” to wear in HS in the 70s.

I was...uh...more “ample” back then and they drew a lot of unwanted attention.

I still remember the day I got to pick my own bra.

It was virtually undetectable, didn't shove stuff into everybody’s face...and it wasn't “living”.
