Where are the Violent Femmes?
Been to one but the girls were screaming too loud. They went through a lot of personal problems but kept it together always high quality work. Gahan was dead for about 10 minutes once in LA after an OD but cleaned himself up. All married men too.

Here is a great video where they are playing on top of one of two famous building now gone. I cannot really watch it. Notice David Gahan (singer) and what he is wearing around his neck. “It ain’t” a star and crescent.
Nice American made equiptment:
Gibson L-5(?) Martin Gore
Two eMu Emulators played by Allen Wilder and Fletch.
Just how many tone-deaf judges were there on this panel?
Jesus friggin' sheesh!!!!!!!
Prison?
Where are The Sex Pistols?
I counted 18 on the list that I would get up out of my chair to go and see.
I stopped counting at 30 the number of the listed that I would get up out of my chair and walk across the room to turn off, if they came on the radio (The Beatles and the Who being the top two in that category.)
I see virtually none of the artists that I listen to with regularity, save for the 18 I mentioned.
That summary tells me this list is useless.
They won major awards...and stuff
I have know idea LoL
If record sales is the criteria, then where is Frank Sinatra (about 150 million) or the Eagles, whose “Greatest Hits” album alone sold nearly 30 million copies?
For that matter, AC/DC, Garth Brooks and Shania Twain all have had an album that has sold > 20X Platinum (i.e. over 20 million copies).
This is a crap list.
Glad someone else appreciates them.
No Clapton? No list.
I couldn’t find the Bay Bops their either.
Let’s go slumming! No, wait, we’re already there.
Never mind the Sex Pistols, where are the Bullocks?
Thats kind of the way I feel whenever I see the Dave Mathews band...
#60- Cream.
We asked for Mojo Nixon, they said “He don’t work here”
We said “If you don’t have Mojo Nixon, then your store could use some fixin’”
Loved the Dead Milkmen, former Detroit Tiger’s great Jim Walewander’s favorite band.
(He puts on the slide. It shows a 2-bit Indie Rock band playing on the stage of an English pub. The drummer has hair combed down over his face and held in place by his glasses, the guitarist has tattoos and the lead singer is wearing a Gary Glitter-style jacket with huge shoulder pads. He is, after a fashion, singing.)
SINGER: Ommmmmm... Ommmmmm... Ommmmmm...
CAT: What is this? Who is that jerk?
LISTER: It’s me.
CAT: You?
LISTER: Aged 17. That’s me first band, Smeg and The Heads.
CAT: What are you wearing?
LISTER: It was all the rage. It’s what everyone was wearing. It was called “Sham Glam.”
CAT: Look at that collar! You could go hang-gliding!
LISTER: We used to think we were so cool. Come on!
(They step into the past.)
7 Int. English Pub.
SINGER: Ommmmmm... Ommmmmm... Ommmmmm...
LISTER: One of the first songs I ever wrote. It was called “Om”.
RIMMER: Nothing like a good old-fashioned love song, eh?
LISTER: And to think I genuinely thought we were gonna be massive. God, I was stupid.
RIMMER: Who are the other two?
LISTER: The whacked-out, crazy, hippy drummer’s called Dobbin. He joined the police force in the end. Became a grand wizard in the Freemasons. The bass is called Gazza. He was a neo-marxist, nihilistic, anarchist. Eventually joined a large insurance company and got his own parking space.
(The Om Song — finally(!) — finishes.)
Shout it from the rooftops!
