DC Scuttlebutt: Obama a ‘Chainsmoking, Nervous Wreck’
DBKP ^ | September 6, 2010 | Mondoreb

EXCERPT

We know it’s gossip and hearsay, but this was passed onto us via email.

re: Obama is a nervous wreck, chain-smoking incessantly, fretful and broken.

Spoke with a friend of mine in DC who is in very well-connected politically on the Dem side and I asked him about the mood in DC.

He advised me Obama is a shell of a man, second guessing himself non-stop, reeking of cigarettes and consumed with the color of his rapidly-graying hair.

Our informer goes on to say that they realize it’s “second party hearsay” but that it is “consistent with other reports I’ve heard.”

From a purely materialist perspective, it’s difficult to escape concluding that thoughts are things, with substance of some unidentified sort.

It's my observation that thoughts have mass and energy, and that they are capable of affecting others at a distance. I've observed the phenomenon too many times in life to deny its reality.

Further, I believe that the aggregate negative thoughts of millions of Americans are affecting Mr. Obama's mental state. There's a LOT of ill will being directed at him on a constant basis, and I'm sure he's perceiving it.

I'd be willing to bet that if every Freeper simultaneously put out a strong mental intention for Obama to resign immediately, we'd see him do that very thing.

I can well remember growing up in the boonies with no telephone and on numerous weekend occasions my mother would say something like, “I would like to go see my brother Ray but I think maybe my sister is going to come here a little later so I guess we will stay home.” Quite often the person would drive up just as predicted.

To be sensible about this for a minute: it is highly likely that Obama is already exhibiting signs of severe stress. The presidency is a vicious office, and far too demanding for a single person.

And this is the fault of the men who have occupied the office. They have taken authority and responsibility not authorized the president in the constitution.

This must end, by reasonably reducing the power of the presidency to reasonable levels, as it was originally intended to be.

To start with, the bureaucracy must be slashed by at least 50%. The executive branch must return to performing only its constitutional duties.

The president does *not* *rule* the country. His purpose is to veto, or execute the laws written by congress. He should not propose a budget to congress, nor should he push an agenda on congress. He is required to give congress the State of the Union annually. That is all, and it could, and was, given in writing.

The presidency should be stripped of countless ceremonial duties, from attending funerals, to throwing out balls at baseball games, to all the other stuff the president seemingly “has” to do.

Everything the president does should be through his cabinet. No “czars”, no “presidential signing statements”, no “executive orders”. If he should be doing it, it should be done through a cabinet officer or not at all. Otherwise it is not his job.

Every day, the president starts his day with endless briefings about the news around the world. This should be purely for his entertainment, not with the expectation that he has to *do* something about everything.

Put it all together, and we will get a presidency that works, but does not kill its occupant.

Sadly, Obama is happily destroying what he can of America. I doubt he is the slightest bit upset at the damage he is inflicting on the people of this country. I can not but believe that he truly hates the common folk who resist his elitist authoritarianism.

After one term, he’ll sit back and let the Soros $$$ roll in.

Agree and it is not just humans.

When we go diving, I will hover somewhere and stay very still until a school of tangs or something comes along, at some distance away from me. I will pick out one and without moving my head, just my eyes, focus on it. Suddenly, that particular fish will break formation and go darting in and out among the others. I have observed this happening over and over in various places, various times.

As to the phone thing: my husband and I will be talking about someone we haven’t seen or heard from in a long time, sometimes years. Within days, that person will call or email.

Want to make someone call or email? Just concentrate on them. A photo will help. They will contact you. Again, we have both tried this countless times and it will usually work. We also usually find out that something stressful has been going on for them and that is why they haven’t called/written. It will NOT work if that person is estranged from you for whatever reason they may have. Just for people, often just acquaintances, with whom you don’t have a serious history. So, it doesn’t overcome strong emotional estrangements, IMO.

The staring stranger in the crowd event is also accurate, or has been for me.

If this is true this would make Obama the first real cigarette chain smoker we have had since Roosevelt.

This type of crap has no more credibility than the often named "un-named source"... I'm surprised and very disappointed this kind of garbage gets posted on FR.

Disagree ... this is "stated" to be possible hearsay ... so it is what a person "thinks". Certainly better reporting than Vanity Fair's "facts". Also, why not keep the pressure on. Tell me, would Ed Shultz use this ... it's time to strike back at these people with the same BS they throw at us. Let them stay busy denying it ... maybe that'll keep too busy to come up with another "Socialized Medicine-like" program that will bury us forever! I say Pile it On!

I don’t think it’s the smoking per se .. it’s that
he said he was quitting months and months ago ..
and this *rumor* is inferring he’s so stressed that
he’s backed track on that, too .. as he has on a
multitude of things. It would not be difficult
to do that, of course.

"Pile it on."

Be nice to see Michelle wandering the halls of the White House at night, talking to herself like Lady Macbeth.

You can not convince me that The Mombasa Moonbeam gives much of a shiite about (a) public reaction or (b) much of anything else except perhaps what tourist destination his next lobster is coming from.

He is a figure head, tucked under the bowsprit of the ship of state. He gets wet a lot, but George Soros, Tim Geithner, et al are running the ship, and have the course set. After every outing the MSM dries Obama off, and the course remains euro-socialism on the port tack.

He's leaving in 2012 and doing the TO to Hillary. Those are his orders. He has gone out and drawn fire and now Hillary will handle the consolidation phase. As the Depression inevitably deepens ... probably by Soros' design ... a contrary Congress is a godsend to the Democrats, who can blame their "Obstructionism" for the continuing meltdown.
