'Frasier' Spinoff? Kelsey Grammer 'Seriously Thinking About That'
t v squad ^ | Sep 1st 2010 | Jean Bentley

The actor Tweeted last month about the possibility of catching up with a new generation of the the Crane family, the New York Post reports. "Maybe it is time for a Frasier reunion," Grammer wrote. "(It's) very interesting to say the least... maybe a Frasier reunion on like a new show seriously thinking about that !!!."

Grammer solicited opinions from his Twitter followers about the possibility of a spinoff. "I'm now really thinking maybe a spin-off of Frasier?" he wrote. "How would u feel about that with like my son and (Frasier's fictional brother) Niles' sibling? Cameos by old cast?"

TOPICS: Business/Economy; Humor; TV/Movies
KEYWORDS: crane; frasier; remake; spinoff
I've always felt Frasier Crane would return, but more likely as a crime fighting police psychologist. I gather Kelsey never watched or learned the lesson of the Mary and Rhoda daughters' movie.

Moral of the story, get a pre-nup or be stuck trying to scrounge up quick cash any way you can.

Grammer’s a conservative. For that reason alone I’d watch. Besides the fact that Frasier was one of my favorite shows of all time. (Andy Griffith WAS my favorite)

That would be very cool indeed. Cheers and Frasier were two of my all-time favorite shows.

Interesting that of the old Cheers cast he is the one to have the best following career.
Of course, IMO, Dansons acts since then have been worth zip. Cliff & Norm had potential but it never happened. I think the Carla character had something...but it never got legs. As far as Woody...well...I've just not cared for the characters he's done....just my opinion.

Does anyone watch network TV anymore? Grammer is about as good as anyone but this is a dying venue.

I still say Frasier was the best written and acted comedy I've ever seen. The casting was excellent and Kelsey was always perfect in the role. Niles was the best second banana. About 10 years ago I posted on my fav 2nd bananas of all time. Everybody had their favs

1. Art Carney

2. Jerry Stiller

3. Ted Knight

4. George, Elaine, Kramer

5. Niles Crane

6. Niles on the Nanny (The guy was great! even if show wasn't!) 7. Gale Gordon

8. Fred Mertz

9. Robert (ELoves Raymond)

10. Barney Fife!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The greatest of all!

I never cared for the episodes that had his son on. Rather than a spinoff, the only thing that would interest me is the Frasier show with a couple interesting new characters.

But Kelsey needs to consider politics! He must not be interested in the hassle and BS.

If he's going to get political, I'd prefer he do so from inside Hollywood. Maybe if there were more openly right-of-center folks in the business, the industry wouldn't be such a cesspool of left wing moonbattery.

Maybe never mind what I said. I don’t keep up with Hollywood gossip - now I see he is getting divorced again and has a pregnant GF. For a conservative, he’s got a bit of baggage! Of course, he could be active in politics in some way without running for office. He is a smart guy, apparently with the exception of his personal choices. His wife is going to be on “The Wives of Beverly Hills”!

Sadly, the creator and producer of “Frasier,” David Angell and his wife, Lynn, died aboard American Airlines Flight 11 on September 11, 2001, when the hijacked plane hit the north tower of New York’s World Trade Center. The couple had just closed their Cape Cod summer home for the season and were returning to their main residence in Los Angeles.

On the “Frasier” series finale in 2004, Daphne and Niles had a son, which they named David in honor of their friend and colleague.

It was a great series....I liked it much better than “Cheers.”

Loved them both as well. I still watch Andy Griffith reruns whenever they are on. I will watch them until I can recite them word for word rather than watch the garbage they churn out today.

Frasier is already the longest running character on TV. I’d at least give a new Frasier show a try ... he’s a great character. The show would have to get some great writers though.

>>> There was a Mary and Rhoda’s daughters movie??

Mary and Rhoda (2000)

Mary Tyler Moore ... Mary Richards Cronin

Valerie Harper ... Rhoda Morgenstern Gerard Rousseau

Bethany Joy Galeotti ... Rose Cronin (as Joie Lenz)

Marisa Ryan ... Meredith Rousseau

Awful

...I do as well. I own season 1-6. I like to think that Andy didn’t drink the kool aid until Matlock.

Didn’t Kelsey Grammer promote some sort of “Conservative” channel that was supposed to air this summer? I remember seeing a trailer for it on Pajama’s TV where Kelsey was flying some big flag at the end—it was interesting looking, but I haven’t heard another thing about it? Anybody know anything?
