Thank you, Conor.
Thanks Amy! Cute rabbit and kitten!
You’re doing the things I need to do a lot of but just can’t make myself get busy! Seems the every day things keep me busy and seems I have a lot of errands to run constantly!
Hope you are successful in your cleaning out! Have a Warm Fuzzy Wednesday (if you can.) I just cut my thermostat to cooler as I am burning up. I’m doing paperwork but have had a lot of interruptions...phone calls, etc.
See ya sometime!
I love Dalmations. They are so lovable.
We had one years ago; we named him Blotter. Someone stole him when he was about 6 months old. We put up flyers and asked all the neighbors but had no luck in finding him. That was probably 40 years ago.
Marissa wants another dog ... hmmm. I wonder what MrJ would think of another Blotter? She says she wants a Beagle.
Are you going to try the pound first. Sometimes you can find some cute dogs there and they need a home so bad. We got one from the pound one time and she was a sweet, sweet dog. We named her Happy because we knew she had to be happy to get a good home.
Thats the only one we have gotten from the pound. I'm sure they call the pound something else by now but I'm just not familiar with it.
P.S. I meant to tell you Blotter was a cute name for a Dalmation. Do you think Marissa would settle for one of those?
Lovely opening and poem, Amy! Thank you!
What cute Dalmation puppies with the red wagon! Thank you!
Hi Amy! Haven’t been here much today, so understand when things pile up over time and NOW your brother is bringing a guest. Good luck, but try not to overdue it! Thank you for the beautiful bunny graphic!!
Thank you, tiapam! I’m getting ready to run to the store...I’m out of candy....LOL! See you later!
Psalm 109:8
We were in slow-moving traffic the other day and the car in front of us had an Obama bumper sticker on it. It read: “Pray for Obama. Psalm 109:8.”
......................................................................................................
My husband’s Bible was lying on the dash board & he got it & opened it up to the scripture & read it. He started laughing & laughing.
Then he read it to me. I couldn’t believe what it said. I had a good laugh, too.
Psalm 109:8 “Let his days be few and brief; and let others step forward to replace him.”
At last - I can voice a Biblical prayer for our president!
Look it up - it is word for word! Let us all bow our heads and pray.
That is great, Dubya! I LOVE it! (It reminded me of this one, that I got in my email from a fellow FReeper, the other day):
PARKING TICKET
Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day my wife and I went into town and went into a shop. We were only in there for about 5 minutes. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. We went up to him and said, “Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?”
He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him a Nazi turd. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires. So my wife called him a sh..-head. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote... Personally, we didn’t care. We came into town by bus and saw the car had an Obama sticker.......SO... We try to have a little fun each day now that we’re retired... It’s important at our age!!!!
These jays are SO funny. When I had pack-rats outdoors, several years ago, I would put two dishes of moth balls in the engine compartment of my car,(one on each side) to deter them. I would leave the hood up, with a ‘trouble’ light, and heavy metal music blaring from my little portable stereo.
It didn’t stop the pack-rats from chewing my wires, though. But, something surprising happened. Every morning, when I would go out to check my engine for damage, all the moth balls were gone!
Then, one evening, standing at my kitchen sink, I saw a scrub jay, with a white ball in his beak. He took it into the yard, and actually buried it. Then, another scrub jay (who obviously had been watching the burial), would fly over to the spot, after the first bird left, and dig up the little white ball, and re-bury it somewhere else!
It was the moth balls! Surprised the heck outta me!
You are a 'quick learner'!
Please come back soon - we miss you!
Thank you, Conor! I might be a little late, but I’m hoping you had a Warm and Fuzzy Wednesday, too!
LOL Thank you for sharing.
As a result of adult children neglecting their responsibilities, some elderly parents in Singapore are forced to seek financial help from charities and other state agencies. Speaking about this escalating situation, a government official said, We cannot legislate love.
In the Bible, however, love is commanded. That is what Moses told the nation of Israel: I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways (Deut. 30:16). And Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God (Mark 12:30).
How can God command love? His supreme display of love at Calvary gave Him that right. Jesus beloved disciple, John, wrote: By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. . . . This is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment (1 John 3:16,23).
What opportunities do you have to obey Gods command to love? Honoring parents by caring and providing for them? Ministering to a sick friend? Offering a gracious and kind word to someone who is difficult to love?
Lord, because You laid down Your life for us, help us to show love to others.
