Morning!
Is Jack County in the Hill Country? I visited distant relatives there a few years ago. It was very dry but did not look the way I pictured it. I was surprised to see hills and wildlife.
The reunion was fun; it is always great to see the little ones and their reaction to so many relatives.

They are a powerful breed. A cross between a bulldog, and a Boston terrier. They have unusually powerful jaws and a tendency or trait of not letting go, holding on for long periods of time..
When I was 4-5 I was at my grandparents farm, and playing with two cousins that lived with them. I did not have a dog at home. Anyway in the way of children I pushed this pit bulldog from behind, and it turned and ripped open the side of my face; from the top of my ear to near the throat. It was 26 miles to the doctor. I have a few random scars or kernels under the skin of about 4 tooth entries as well. One on the other side of my face, one on the cheek, IT healed well. The scar is not very visible, as I got older.
Still I have a fear of any aggression that shows up in dogs. Especially dogs like Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Australian Shepherds, Boxers, Dalmatians, most large dogs, Great Danes, etc. and PIT BULLS. I have a miniature poodle. Wonderful dog. Great personality.
Like men, when under control they can be great; but any trainer will tell people, NEVER LEAVE A DOG IN A ROOM ALONE WITH A SMALL CHILD OR BABY. NEVER.
Yet, there are many who trust their dog.
Remember it is a dog. They are wonderful friends, but they all came from WOLVES. Respect that truth.

“Fear of the LORD is the Beginning of Wisdom.”
Spend time daily reading God’s Word.
It settles the soul. Quiets the anxious heart, and brings us peace.
