***ATTENTION*** Facebook launched Facebook Places yesterday. Anyone can find out where you are located when you are on Facebook via GLOBAL POSITIONING APPLICATION! To disable this feature:
Go to account
Account Settings
Notifications - scroll down to PLACES
UNCHECK 2 boxes (Places,Tags me at a Place ...&...Comments on my visits to Places) ......and SAVE CHANGES.
Please COPY to your status and pass it on.

notifications alone wont change anything, you need to disable the app

Scroll down to Applications& Website
click Edit your settings
Info accesible through your friends
click Edit Settings
UNCHECK Places I check in to
SAVE CHANGES
Click on account, at the top right hand corner, click on privacy settings.
Scroll all the way down to the bottom left hand side and see Application and Websites, and see the blue “edit your settings”, click on that.
That is cool. I think people in families and friends also should have some room for disagreements. I am glad your true friends and family have a sense of humor on differences.

got a few notices on it the other day & took care of it.
THOROUGHLY enjoy Facebook. Have located folks that I lost tract of (and could not find with my own efforts) decades past.

The thing is, if someone from my past wanted to find me, they couldn’t on FB.
I didn’t give my real info. My family and friends were like “that’s not your last name, that’s not your this, that’s not your that”, “why are you lying, etc”.
I told them I did it for privacy reasons. Anyone from the past I am friends with I friended. Surprisingly, no one asked about my “name change” or anything else.
