In an interview in September's Ladies' Home Journal, first lady Michelle Obama mentions that she occasionally takes part in a cleanse. She meant, according to her press office, that she eats as much fruit and vegetables as possible and cuts out fats and oils, dairy, meat, caffeine, sugar and starch for a short period of time.
Doing so, she told the magazine, helps "clean out my palate."
Such a cleanse isn't something I considered for my Me Minus 10 weight-loss project, but I wondered whether it could be beneficial to others.
Temporarily restricting one's food can be a useful way to kick off a weight-loss diet or transition to better long-term eating habits, says Jim White, a Virginia Beach-based registered dietitian and spokesman for the American Dietetic Association. Obama's mix of foods, though limited, should provide enough nutrients to maintain her metabolism and blood-sugar levels, at least in the short run, he says.
Keri Gans, also a registered dietitian and ADA spokeswoman, is not a fan, however. "It's setting up that the only way to eat healthy is to restrict," she says. "She should be learning to eat from all food groups correctly."

This outfit and that “thing” in her hair makes her look like a cat!
OK, all I got out of this article is that Michelle Obama doesn’t know the difference between her palate and her colon.
Bit of an overshare, but - whatever - as long as it’s clean.

“There’s nothing that the first family loves more than a good burger, right?” Obama said. “And look, my favorite food in the whole wide world are french fries. I love them. Dearly. Deeply. I have a good relationship with french fries and I would eat them every single day if I could.”
“I tell my girls this: If you’re getting the right foods for most of the time, then when it’s time to have cake and french fries on those special occasions, then you balance it out.”
Obama also managed a spot-on imitation of kids whining about eating their vegetables.
“I don’t wanna eat it. I don’t like it. It tastes bad. I don’t want it,’” the first lady said in her best nasal whine.
Then she added: “We don’t want to hear the whining. We want you to eat it. Just eat it.”

Michelle Obama: I have a good relationship with French fries
Most likely she uses Ex Lax since she is full of shit.
This is some scary sh!t.
It sure hasn’t done much to reduce the size of her caboose.
What an absolute disgrace these slime are.
Yes, a strange choice of words. Maybe she didn’t want to use the word “gut” in an interview. I’m really glad she didn’t.
I'm not actually, I'm saying they're composed entirely of it.
Depends where you keep your head.
Oh I get it. Sort of like a Ramadan Lite. Thats the ticket mmmm, mmm, mmmm.

If you want to cleanse your palate, you brush your teeth or eat a piece of cheese. This heifer is producing methane in epidemic proportions. What a moron!
I think she has confused cleansing her palate with cleaning her plate. She is not nearly as educated and sophisticated as she'd have us believe. What she is advocating is not healthy and she wants to preach to us about how to eat.
Will it work for me? I don’t know and don’t plan to try it. It doesn’t appear to work too well for her.
Bullshit. That's not what she meant, and no one who has an IQ above 100 would believe otherwise. The WH just doesn't want the grief from every medical association in the country who says "cleanses" have no medical or health value whatsoever, and in fact, can be dangerous.
MO definitely strikes me as the kind of idiot who would go on one of those "maple-syrup, water, cayenne pepper" diets for a week. She's not the brightest bulb on the tree.
..and Obamah looking disgusted at the man-of-the-house.
