I'm not "flying off the handle". I simply disagreed with what you said about the usage of the word 'infant'.

The word has never been generally used in this country to include people over the age of about two.

Perhaps you found some obscure legal usage of the term, but you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who uses that word to refer to children up to the age of 18 (as you claimed).

Several others have posted references to authoritative sources that say "infant" is used in the sense I used it.

I really do believe you need to take some time and read the entire thread.
