"People always say that the Romans wouldn't have built by a river but our finds have all been by the river."

Am I missing something? Rome is on the Tiber. London on the Thames. Paris on the Seine. It seems to me that the Romans had no special reluctance to build by rivers.

The Roman invention of waterproof concrete helped them rule the world. Bridges, aqueducts, sewers, etc were child’s play for them.

Sadly the English threw away 1000 years of their civilization for Islamification helped by Tony Blair, the Labour Party, BBC, and Rupert Murdoch.

Go to an early map of almost any region. The development and roadways were along waterways. Doesn't take a lot of brain power to know why!!

Someone asked me why my grandfather built his house on the top of the hill. It was like....Duh...why do you think....
