As American Women Fatten, New Beauty Pageants Emerge
The Spearhead ^ | August 3 2010 | Welmer

Posted on 08/04/2010 1:42:47 PM PDT by Christian Cage

All American women want to wear a tiara, but those old standards of beauty don’t work for very many of them any longer. In fact, far fewer American women could be objectively called beautiful than a mere 30 years ago, when the fat epidemic had just begun.

Enter the “Miss Plus America” pageant, a competition specifically for “plus” women. Now, American women can eat their way to the championship, scarfing down potato chips and chugging soda pop to put them in the running for beauty queen.

I’m kind of curious as to why “plus” is the term employed. Is it supposed to suggest that it’s somehow desirable, as in “that’s a plus?” Maybe it simply sounds better than “Miss Fat America,” but euphemisms have a way of becoming terms of ridicule, so it will probably backfire soon enough.

Personally, I don’t have a problem with curvy women, naturally big women, etc. But it’s obvious that these women have a great deal of body fat, and are technically obese. Obesity isn’t beautiful, and it isn’t healthy. Our aim should be to eradicate – not celebrate – obesity. However, it seems that these women’s desire to be celebrated matters more than a national crisis that is seeing children develop type II diabetes, and adults die prematurely from weight-related diseases.

Those aren’t curves. They’re switchbacks up a mountain.

“I count 11 toes in that photo...”

That’s just a case of ‘toe-lio’. It is not considered a communicable disease, but it is one of the more rare symptoms of hyperactive fork syndrome.

are these pictures to distract from california

or

are they to associate what happened in california with curvy women?

(not the obese fat women)

“The one on top oughta tattoo some nipples on her back. LOL”

I thought some PhotoShopper had airbrushed them off the picture and turned her head around.

Excuse me while I search for my wire brush and a bar of Lava soap to get that picture out of my brain.

I am shocked that I didn’t recognize her as Saffron right away, but yes that’s her.

I recognized her from Firefly as soon as I saw her on Mad Men.

That face is unmistakable. Probably the most distinctively sexy redhead since Anita Moris...God rest her soul.

My theory is that most designers hiring models are gay therfore they tend to hire woman that look most like skinny boys.
