Paul just completed OCS and the Basic School. He was married this summer . Paul thought he has Acid Reflux and was treating it OTC. Paul was admitted to the hospital Two weeks ago with Pericarditis, Which is a build up of fluid around the heart. All tests for known bacterial and viral infections have come back negative. Yesterday Paul's Heart, kidneys and liver began shutting down. He is in Critical condition. I love this guy like my own son, they grew up together.

In the East, pericarditis at this time of year is most often viral (even with the negative tests) and complete recovery is the rule. If his kidneys are working after the pericardial tap, that is a good sign.

I will remember 2nd Lt. Paul in my prayers.
