A while back, we heard that Leonardo DiCaprio might play controversial FBI boss J. Edgar Hoover in a Clint Eastwood directed biothingie.
Now it looks like that’s actually gonna happen.
One of my studio sources tells me now that Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play J Edgar Hoover in the still untitled biopic.
While Hoover was an odd duck, I believe he tended towards asexuality rather than homosexuality. There were too many people that hated him, and considering he busted several hundred Mafia guys, if the photos existed, the mob would have used them.
When you say not true, do you mean the homosexual rumors, or the claim that the KGB started the rumors?
DiCaprio is also 5” taller the JE was.

My father worked for Hoover for 25 years. He had a lot to say about him, negative as well as postive, but he did not believe the Tolson rumors or the cross dressing. His take was "Hoover had a lot of enemies".
I'd add that the New Left, now infesting all the media, never forgave Hoover for infiltrating their groups in the 60s. They are happy to promote the homosexual hypocrite theme.

Indeed, this is an old KGB smear. Unfortunately, this Big Lie has been repeated over and over so often that many people now believe it.
Let me put in a rare good word for the man. He built one of the finest law enforcement agencies in history. All those rescued kidnapped kids over the years, and all the other crimes that where prevented and stopped, mean a hell of a lot more than what Hoover might have done in his private life, even if he had been homosexual.

Richard Hack presented evidence in his 2004 book “Puppetmaster – The Secret Life Of J. Edgar Hoover” to prove Hoover had a sexual relationship with Hollywood actress Dorothy Lamour and a possible intimate relationship with Lela Rogers, mother of actress Ginger Rogers.

Agreed. One of the tactics of the left is start rumours like this in order to tear down the right’s icons, or heroes.

Research the interview with LBJ’s mistress, Madeleine Duncan Brown, about the JFK assassination. It’s long but extremely revealing and interesting. A small part of it is her contention that it was well known among the Texas oil/political crowd that Hoover was absolutely gay. She even references his ‘vacations’ with another well-known queer.
You know, I don’t much care if someone is gay now. It is really really hard to care if someone long dead was gay.
The “well known” or “everyone knew about it” contention is a common smear tactic used to lend authenticity to a claim. Only those unfamiliar with the laws of logic are moved by it. Unfortunately that is most people.

I visited the LBJ ranch in November and seeing it and all the pieces of the LBJ career, I was convinced the interview must be true.
There is a real story that will never be told about the murders committed to advance LBJ’s career.
